  • Oversee all projects between £20,000 and £1m, including infrastructure works, ride improvements, facility upgrades, and estate enhancement projects.
  • Produce detailed project plans, programmes, cost projections, and resource schedules.
  • Ensure full compliance with CDM 2015 regulations, Merlin safety policies, and all site procedural requirements.
  • Produce and review RAMS, construction phase plans, and H&S documentation.
  • Lead site safety briefings, contractor inductions, and on-site audits.
  • Coordinate with resort operations, engineering, facilities, and external contractors.
  • Manage tendering, procurement, contract negotiation, and contractor performance.
  • Chair project progress meetings and communicate clearly with all stakeholders.
  • Control project budgets and track financial performance throughout each project.
  • Report on progress, risks, and variances to the Technical Director.
  • Ensure cost-effective delivery without compromising safety or quality.
  • Monitor construction and installation quality to ensure all work meets design intent and safety standards.
  • Conduct inspections, manage snagging, and oversee the commissioning process.
  • Produce complete closeout documentation including O&M manuals and asset information.

Skills & Experience Required:
  • Proven experience managing multiple construction, engineering, or estates projects simultaneously.
  • Strong working knowledge of CDM 2015 and site safety management.
  • Experience delivering projects in the £20k-£1m value range.
  • IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) - mandatory.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Ability to travel frequently across multiple Merlin resorts.
    Desirable:
  • Experience in leisure, hospitality, theme parks, or multi-site operational environments.
  • APM, PRINCE2, or other formal project management qualification.
  • Technical background in construction, engineering, or facilities management.
  • Experience managing contractor activities on live operational sites.
