This is an ideal opportunity for someone who:
- Has expertise in highway construction and maintenance.
- Has knowledge of contract and project management techniques, including cost and quality control.
- Is proficient in relevant computer software, such as AutoCAD and Key Systems.
- Has a strong understanding of national and local standards, such as Standards for Highways (SFH), and legislation including the Highways Act and CDM Regulations.
- Possesses excellent communication skills and the ability to provide technical knowledge and recommendations on complex highway engineering problems.
- Deliver exceptional highway engineering projects while overseeing and supervising contractors' work to ensure quality, cost and time requirements are met.
- Monitor project costs and financial information, to maintain financial oversight.
- Prepare drawings, designs, and contract documents to support the delivery of various highway engineering projects and apply technical methods and expertise to ensure effective execution, while analysing challenges and identifying practical solutions.
- Conduct public consultations, liaising with internal colleagues and external bodies, community members, and other stakeholders to gather information, address complaints, and respond to enquiries.
