Digital Operations Project Manager: Key Roles and Responsibilities
• Design and manage digital transformation and quality improvement projects, clearly defining objectives, digital workflows, and measurable outcomes.
• Identify, document, and track the realisation of digital operational benefits before, during, and after the implementation of digital solutions.
• Perform comprehensive data analysis and evaluation throughout project phases, ensuring continuous learning, agile adaptation, and achievement of identified digital benefits.
• Implement robust digital project governance, including detailed documentation, task scheduling, milestone setting, stakeholder coordination, and proactive management of timelines and deliverables.
• Collaborate and network effectively with internal teams such as IT, business intelligence, and clinical operations to leverage data insights and identify digital innovation opportunities.
• Produce concise and insightful digital project progress reports and presentations tailored to various stakeholders, including executive boards, governance committees, and operational teams.
• Oversee financial management of digital project resources, closely monitoring expenditures, optimizing budgets, and identifying cost efficiencies through digital innovation.
• Research and integrate national and industry-wide digital best practices, emerging technologies, and evidence-based solutions to continually enhance project effectiveness.
• Develop and maintain strategic relationships with external digital partners and stakeholders to foster innovation, shared learning, and alignment with industry standards.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.

- Knowledge of the current policy, strategy, and performance environment concerning non-elective demand for acute services and approaches to managing this
- Ability to develop and maintain communication with people on complex matters, issues and ideas and/or in complex situations
- Demonstrate effective project leadership
- Self-motivating and self-disciplined with planning and organising a work programme with conflicting demands and priorities
- Commitment to involving patients, families and carers and staff in shaping plans and delivering service improvements
- Educated to degree level or equivalent
Desirable criteria
- PRINCE 2 or similar project management/quality improvement accreditation
- Post graduate qualification or evidence of post graduate education
- Experience of managing complex, large scale projects within NHS/Social Care/Public sector bodies involving multiple stakeholders and working across organisational boundaries
- Ability to effectively manage a diverse project team working in a co-operative approach to achieve shared goals
