Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the implementation of a complex SaaS software solution within large grocery and pharmacy retail environments. This role combines hands-on, in-store execution with strategic stakeholder management at head office and senior leadership level. You will be responsible not only for delivering a successful rollout, but also for clearly demonstrating the value, impact, and commercial benefits of the solution to retail executives. You will act as the primary interface between the retailer, internal product and engineering teams, and external partners, ensuring that deployments are delivered on time, on budget, and aligned with business outcomes.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

Project Delivery & Execution

• Lead end-to-end implementation of a complex SaaS solution across grocery and pharmacy retail stores
• Plan and manage multi-site rollouts, pilots, and phased deployments
• Spend 2-3 days per week in stores, supporting deployment activities, validating workflows, and resolving operational issues
• Own project plans, timelines, risks, dependencies, and budgets
• Ensure consistent delivery standards across multiple store formats and regions

Stakeholder & Executive Management

• Serve as the primary point of contact for retail stakeholders, from store teams to senior head office leadership
• Present progress, outcomes, and insights to senior and executive-level audiences
• Demonstrate and articulate the business value of the solution (e.g. operational efficiency, compliance, customer experience, ROI)
• Build strong, trusted relationships with client stakeholders at all levels

Value Realisation & Adoption

• Drive adoption by aligning the solution with real in-store processes and retailer priorities
• Translate technical capabilities into clear business benefits
• Support change management, training, and user engagement initiatives
• Capture feedback from stores and feed insights back into product and delivery teams

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with internal product, engineering, customer success, and commercial teams
• Coordinate third-party vendors or integration partners where applicable
• Ensure issues are escalated and resolved efficiently across teams

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Senior-level project management experience delivering complex SaaS or enterprise software implementations
• Proven experience working with large grocery, pharmacy, or multi-site retail organisations
• Strong background in on-site retail execution combined with head office / executive engagement
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including executive-level presentations
• Strong understanding of operational retail environments and store-level constraints
• Ability to travel regularly within Germany
• Structured, delivery-focused mindset with strong problem-solving skills

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience working with German grocery or pharmacy retailers
• Background in change management or transformation programmes
• Familiarity with demonstrating ROI and value realisation in SaaS deployments
• Experience working in hybrid, cross-border, or matrix organisations

Hybrid/On-site Requirements:

• Spend 2-3 days per week in stores, supporting deployment activities
• Ability to travel regularly within Germany
