About the role

We are looking for a proven Project Manager to lead schemes within our Power portfolio, delivering essential infrastructure that supports the UK's energy network.

You will take full accountability for project delivery from planning and design through to commissioning and handover - driving performance across safety, programme, commercial control and quality. Leading multi-disciplinary teams and managing specialist supply chain partners, you will ensure projects are delivered safely, sustainably and to budget in a technically demanding environment.

What you'll be doing

You will take overall responsibility for successful project delivery from planning and design through to commissioning and close-out. This includes:

• Leading and managing multi-disciplinary teams to deliver against programme, cost and quality targets
• Owning and controlling the project budget, ensuring commercial performance and effective change management
• Driving a relentless focus on Zero Harm, leading safety tours, reviewing RAMS, investigating incidents and ensuring legislative compliance
• Managing subcontractors and supply chain partners to ensure contractual performance and timely delivery
• Leading risk and opportunity reviews and maintaining ownership of the Risk Register
• Developing and managing resource-loaded programmes, short interval controls and operational milestones
• Ensuring governance standards are upheld, holding project reviews and maintaining accurate records and reporting
• Overseeing quality assurance, audits and KPI performance
• Managing stakeholder relationships and presenting clear, informed reports internally and externally
• Championing digital standards, ensuring reliable project data and promoting effective use of digital tools
• Building high-performing teams through mentoring, empowerment and structured development

Who we're looking for

• A strong track record delivering projects within the power sector, including substations, overhead lines, cabling or wider transmission and distribution works
• A proven history of delivering complex projects across varied environments
• In-depth knowledge of standard forms of contract and robust commercial controls
• Demonstrable experience managing budgets and driving effective cost control
• Proven leadership capability - empowering, motivating and developing high-performing teams
• Experience implementing and maintaining safe systems of work within high-risk operational environments
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills at all organisational levels
• A solution-focused mindset with the confidence to challenge, influence and make informed decisions
• Experience managing risk, change and performance metrics
• Membership of a professional body (e.g. APM)
• A valid UK driving licence
