Balfour Beatty is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to join our team working on the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, one of the UK's most critical healthcare facilities. This is a key role delivering high-quality construction works in a live hospital environment, where safety, collaboration, and precision are paramount.
As Construction Manager, you will take responsibility for the safe and efficient delivery of construction activities on site, ensuring works are completed to programme, budget, and the highest quality standards. You will work closely with project teams, supply chain partners, and hospital stakeholders to minimise disruption and maintain continuous operational safety.

What you'll be doing
As a Construction Manager you will:
- Manage day-to-day construction activities on site
- Ensure all works comply with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards
- Coordinate subcontractors and site teams to meet programme milestones
- Oversee short-term planning, sequencing, and logistics in a live hospital environment
- Liaise with project management, design, and client teams
- Identify and manage risks, issues, and opportunities on site
- Maintain accurate site records, reporting, and progress updates.
Who we're looking for
You will have the following:
- Proven experience as a Construction Manager on large or complex projects
- Experience working in healthcare, live environments, or similarly regulated sectors (desirable)
- Strong knowledge of UK construction regulations and CDM requirements
- Excellent leadership, communication, and coordination skills
- SMSTS, CSCS (Manager level), and First Aid qualifications
- A proactive, safety-first mindset with attention to detail.
