This is a senior delivery role with full ownership of complex power infrastructure projects across substations and transmission & distribution works. You will be accountable for performance from project initiation through to handover - controlling budget, programme, risk and quality while leading high-performing, multi-disciplinary teams.
As Senior Project Manager, you will set direction, challenge assumptions and determine the most effective route to meet customer requirements within demanding time and commercial constraints. You will act as the escalation point for risk and issue resolution, ensure governance standards are upheld and drive consistent, accurate financial reporting.

What you'll be doing
- Taking full accountability for end-to-end project delivery and budget ownership
- Leading Project Managers and functional leads to drive coordinated, high-performing teams
- Ensuring accurate financial reporting and strong commercial oversight
- Setting strategic direction for procurement and subcontract package allocation
- Leading a relentless focus on Zero Harm and ensuring legislative compliance
- Reviewing and approving RAMS and maintaining live H&S plans
- Driving risk and opportunity management, presenting and owning the Risk Register
- Overseeing governance requirements including PRMs and Digital Briefcase updates
- Developing and maintaining resource-loaded schedules and allocation plans
- Managing senior stakeholder relationships including clients and sponsors
- Leading quality assurance, KPI performance and continuous improvement initiatives
- Coaching and mentoring Project Managers, building capability and succession within the team
You will be a senior leader with:
- Significant experience delivering complex power sector projects, including substations, overhead lines, cabling and transmission & distribution works
- A strong track record of full lifecycle project delivery with budget accountability
- In-depth understanding of standard forms of contract and commercial strategy
- Proven experience leading large, multi-disciplinary teams across complex environments
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to control cost, manage change and ensure accurate reporting
- Demonstrable experience implementing robust governance, risk and scope management processes
- A consistent record of driving high safety standards within high-risk operational settings
- The ability to influence senior stakeholders and present with authority and clarity
- Experience coaching and developing Project Managers and future leaders
- Membership of a professional body (e.g. APM)
- A valid UK driving licence
