What will this role achieve?

This role is in the Commercialisation function, whose purpose is to 'lead cross functional collaboration to bring ideas and products to life' and broadly covers 4 key areas:
  • Process enablement
  • Cross-functional integration
  • Risk mitigation
  • Project portfolio management

This Senior Project Manager is responsible for the delivery, process management, governance & reporting of projects to bring new products and changes to existing products to market. Extraordinary execution is a core objective and result.

As well as an internal focus working on our iconic brands, this role may also have an external focus with regard to retailer own label (ROL) projects which involves forming relationships with customer contacts and gaining alignment to ROL projects and processes internally.

The role holder is responsible with the Commercialisation Controller for the delivery of projects to support the delivery of pladis growth targets. These projects can complex in terms of new technologies, high investment spend and inter-linkage with other projects. This role reports into the Commercialisation Controller and manages a team of Project Executives/Managers.

What will be your key deliverables?

  • Accountable for planning, governance and delivery on time, in full for projects approved through the pladis stage and gate process & commercialisation forum.
  • Process enablement is a key deliverable for the function and the Senior Project Manager.
  • Drive innovation & renovation projects through the gates
  • Own the process and timelines
  • Track and report on the progress / issues in an accurate and timely manner. Highlight compliance to plan, key issues and risks.
  • Understand Retailer processes and systems and how they interlink with pladis stage and gate to ensure that project deliverables are met for the Retailer/ customer and pladis

Risk mitigation:
  • Proactively identify projects at risk, remove obstacles efficiently, and escalate issues with clear options, recommendations, and impact assessments.
  • Maintain strict control of project scope, standards, and guardrails, ensuring all changes follow the Commercialisation approval process and are aligned with retailers when relevant.
  • Resolve conflicts, interface problems, and resource constraints through effective prioritisation, stakeholder alignment, and timely adaptive action.
  • Lead cross-functional communication, provide guidance on key project management systems and processes, and drive continuous improvements in performance and ways of working.
  • Oversee end-to-end artwork delivery through Project Executives, ensuring smooth SKU/code transitions, minimising packaging write-off, and managing interdependent initiatives across markets, brands, and product/material changes.

Essential
  • Experience in a Project Management role in an FMCG environment, preferably in a commercialisation function
  • Commercial acumen and P&L understanding
  • Strong communication skills and cross functional collaboration experience
  • Project Management qualification (preferred but not essential)

What will the interview process be?

  • Initial Telephone call with Talent Acquisition
  • 1st stage interview - 45 minutes competency-based interview based on our company values and your experiences.
  • 2nd stage interview - 90 minutes - a technical interview to understand your skill set/case study or presentation interview.

pladis does also use both Psychometric and Aptitude tests to support our processes so you may be asked to complete these as part of your process. Some processes may differ, but we will keep you updated!
