Role Overview

Our Year Out Placements are a great opportunity to explore what it's like to work at RLB, gain hands-on experience, and start building your career in a supportive, collaborative environment.

As a Project Management Placement, you'll gain real insight into how construction projects are planned, managed and delivered, working alongside experienced Project Managers on live projects across a variety of sectors.

Key Responsibilities

As a Project Management Placement at RLB, you'll support the delivery of projects from inception through to completion. You'll gain exposure to all stages of the project lifecycle while developing key professional skills in planning, coordination, communication and problem-solving.

This placement will help you build a strong foundation in project management best practice, equipping you with the knowledge and experience needed for a future career in the built environment.

Your day-to-day could include:

• Supporting Project Managers with the planning, coordination, and delivery of construction projects
• Assisting with the preparation and maintenance of project programmes and schedules
• Helping to track project progress, actions, risks and issues
• Supporting the preparation of project reports for clients and internal stakeholders
• Attending internal and client meetings to observe project governance in action
• Assisting with stakeholder coordination across design teams, consultants and contractors
• Supporting document control and ensuring project data is accurately maintained
• Learning to use RLB's project management systems and digital tools
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the project management team

Who we're looking for

We're looking for people who are curious, motivated, and ready to learn. You'll be studying towards a degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.

A genuine interest in how construction projects are planned and delivered is key.
