We are looking for a proven Project Manager to lead a major cross-country civils scheme in South Lincolnshire / Boston, forming part of National Grid 's c. £59 billion High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) supply chain framework.
As Project Manager, you will take full accountability for delivery from planning and design through to commissioning and handover - driving performance across safety, programme, commercial control and quality. You will lead cross-functional, multi-disciplinary teams and manage specialist supply chain partners to ensure safe, sustainable and on-budget delivery within a live power environment.

As Project Manager, you will take full accountability for delivery from planning and design through to commissioning and handover - driving performance across safety, programme, commercial control and quality. You will lead cross-functional, multi-disciplinary teams and manage specialist supply chain partners to ensure safe, sustainable and on-budget delivery within a live power environment.
What you'll be doing
You will take overall responsibility for successful project delivery, including:
- Leading and managing cross-functional teams across engineering, commercial, operations and supply chain
- Delivering complex cabling and civils works within live or high-risk power environments
- Owning and controlling the project budget, ensuring strong commercial performance and effective change management
- Driving a relentless focus on Zero Harm, leading safety tours, reviewing RAMS, investigating incidents and ensuring legislative compliance
- Managing subcontractors and supply chain partners to ensure contractual performance and programme adherence
- Leading risk and opportunity reviews and maintaining ownership of the Risk Register
- Developing and managing resource-loaded programmes, short interval controls and operational milestones
- Ensuring governance standards are upheld through structured project reviews and accurate reporting
- Overseeing quality assurance, audits and KPI performance
- Managing internal and external stakeholders, providing clear, informed reporting
- Championing digital standards and ensuring accurate project data and system use
- Building high-performing teams through clear leadership, mentoring and structured development
- Significant experience delivering large-scale cabling projects within construction / civils environments
- Strong background within the power sector, ideally across transmission, distribution, HVDC, substations or major cable installation works
- Flexible to be site based 5 x days per week
- Proven experience managing cross-functional teams in complex infrastructure environments
- Demonstrable experience delivering cross-country or linear infrastructure schemes
- In-depth knowledge of standard forms of contract and strong commercial acumen
- A consistent track record of budget ownership and cost control
- Experience implementing and maintaining safe systems of work in high-risk operational environments
- Strong stakeholder management and reporting capability
- Experience managing risk, change and performance metrics on major programmes
- Membership of a professional body (e.g. APM)
- A valid UK driving licence
