Your role
We are excited to welcome a dynamic and ambitious engineering student to join our team as an intern in program management. As part of the Program Management organization at Munich Electrification, you will collaborate closely with Technical Project Leads who manage complex projects across all product lifecycle stages - from concept and development to series and maintenance phases.
This internship offers a deep insight into the entire Battery Management System (BMS) project landscape and the operational structure behind it - including project planning, cross-functional collaboration, customer communication, and technical change management. You will have the opportunity to contribute actively to process improvement, customer request handling, and series project support while developing both technical and managerial skills that are key for modern automotive project environments.

Your future tasks at a glance
- Support TPLs in planning, coordinating, and tracking project progress across electronics development projects (hardware, software, testing).
- Assist in defining and documenting customer requirements and ensure technical alignment across departments.
- Participate in the evaluation and coordination of Change Requests (CRs) and maintenance activities for series projects - from feasibility to implementation tracking.
- Contribute to budget and cost tracking (e.g., CAPEX, BOM updates) and time planning for ongoing projects.
- Support the consolidation and documentation of project maturity levels (e.g., ML reviews) and status reports.
- Help prepare key meetings and communication materials for customer and internal stakeholder alignments.
- Take part in process optimization initiatives to improve efficiency within the Program Management and TPL teams.
- Learn how to identify potential risks early and support the risk management process (e.g., maintaining risk registers).
What you bring with you
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Basic understanding of battery management systems (BMS) or automotive electronics.
- Strong interest in project management, cross-functional collaboration, and process improvement.
- Hands-on mindset, able to deal with both technical topics and organizational challenges.
- Fluent in English and German; clear and structured communication skills are essential.
- Proactive attitude, eagerness to learn, and motivation to take ownership of assigned topics.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, startup-like environment with flat hierarchies and strong engineering culture.
Nice to have:
- International experience (studies abroad or international collaboration).
- Interest in start-ups or scale-ups, or experience from both corporate and smaller company environments.
- Interest in continuous improvement, time tracking, or change management processes.
- Knowledge of AI-based productivity tools, helpful but not essential.
- Clear career plan or motivation to grow toward a Technical Project Lead or Program Manager role in the future.
