Overview
As the project manager for change you will lead the Change in Standards (CiS) process on the M25 DBFO. As part of contract change, we are required to assess new highway standards for potential inclusion in the M25 DBFO Contract.
You will be responsible for the change management process and for maintaining the CiS programme. You will be responsible for the timely, accurate and efficient reporting of key programme activities and for reporting progress through internal and Client governance meetings.
You will be responsible for undertaking initial reviews of new or amended standards, assessing the potential risk level. You will identify what additional technical support and other resources required to complete the review of the change and issue a proposal. The role will interface with cross-organisational technical and commercial specialists in the planning, development, and implementation of proposals.
You will be expected to develop collaborative relationship between our client (Connect Plus), their client (National Highways) and relevant teams/departments within CPS. This will require you to chair technical and performance meetings. You will also be responsible for supporting teams within CPS with the effective implementation planning that is required following adoption of a new or amended standard.

Your role
- To operate in the capacity of the Change in Standards lead.
- Responsible for building strong relationships in a cross-functional collaborative team.
- Responsible for developing a review programme, managing the programme, including issuing early warnings, changes and reporting progress.
- Responsible for process compliance with the M25 DBFO Contract.
- Responsible for working directly with the technical specialists and commercial leads to achieve agreed programmes and key milestones.
- Accountable for the scheduling and chairing of performance, technical and commercial review meetings and monthly reporting of KPI's.
- Responsible for the continuous improvement of the Change in Standards process.
- Ability and willingness to travel to other offices for monthly meetings.
About you
Qualifications/ skills
- Preference of minimum HNC / HND (or equivalent) in a civil engineering, project management or other construction-based discipline.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Broad knowledge of Design, Manual of Roads and Bridges (DMRB), The Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works (MCHW) and other highways standards would be useful.
- Understanding of the DBFO contract is desirable, although not essential, with an expectation that this knowledge will be developed once in post.

Experience
- Experience of managing design, construction or other programmes.

- Experience of working with construction and civil engineering contract forms such as NEC, TPC, PFI etc.
- Some risk management experience preferred.
- Experience of coordinating interfaces with internal/external technical and commercial teams and external resources.
