General ManagementIntroduction
We have an exciting opportunity for a committed and thoughtful Racial Justice Project Manager to join our Parish Support Team. This part-time, three-year role is funded by a generous grant from the National Church's Racial Justice Unit, supporting a project that builds cultural capital among children through meaningful experiences of Global Majority Heritage cultures.
You'll help shape and steward a programme of school sessions, intercultural events, virtual befriending, and international partnerships -ensuring every activity fosters empathy, curiosity, and respect. Your work will guide the Racial Justice Enabler, strengthen relationships with schools and churches, and champion racial justice across our diocese.
Based at Church House, Derby, with hybrid working welcomed, this is a chance to make a thoughtful and lasting impact on children, communities, and our shared diocesan journey toward becoming a more diverse and hope-filled Church.
This role is crucial in three key areas:
1. Overseeing the running and impact of this funded racial justice project and line-managing the Racial Justice Enabler, who will be engaging with schools and churches.
2. Strengthening links with our overseas partner dioceses and developing the elements of the project which are primarily online, such as befriending schemes.
3. Acting as the diocesan lead for racial justice, being a vocal and visible advocate for racial justice and intercultural mission within the Parish Support Team, diocesan leadership, and churches & schools across the diocese, with the aim of building mission-shaped churches and growing Gods Kingdom.
Closing date is 18/3/26 please complete an application form on our website at www.derby.anglican.org
