All Graduate Officers will be supported to complete either a Level 4 Project Management qualification or job-related technical training (all fully funded) as part of the programme.

Corporate Resources, Design & Maintenance, Refurbishment & Improvements

We have successfully recruited graduates in the past and are keen to build on this success and establish a succession carousel in order to strengthen our future offer. The Refurbishment and Improvements Team is a newly formed team following a recent restructure, and is focused on delivery of Conversions, Extensions, Demolitions, Refurbishments, Capital Programme of Works and Project Appraisals.

Our workload will continue to increase is this specialised area and we are building a balanced team in order to meet with this demand. The diversity of the workloads mean that we are currently delivering weathertightness works on a Grade II listed building (£1.5m), swimming pool de-carbonisation (£1.2m), stand alone school buildings (£5m each), school fit out (£1m) and Office fit out (£0.5m), as well as general refurbishments and improvements from £10,000 upwards. The Education Summer Works Programme is also being formulated, with the Local Education Authority Looking to spend £2.85m this Summer.

Who We're Looking For

We are seeking a Graduate Officer to work within the Refurbishment and Improvements Team in Corporate Design and welcome applications from graduates with a degree qualification in Project Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying or a related discipline.

The successful candidate shall assist the Refurbishment and Improvements Team in the delivery of a varied and diverse portfolio of projects, and the majority of experience and knowledge of the construction process will be gained in assisting the team within this diverse portfolio. Experience will also be provided to allow the use of specialist software such as Microsoft Project and project delivery software. Candidates will also gain experience in a wide range of other software when producing specifications, budget costs and project programmes.

Essential Criteria

A minimum 2:2 degree (or equivalent) in Project Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying or a related discipline.
