WGM Engineering Ltd, part of RSK Group has a unique opportunity for a Head of Procurement to join our Procurement team on a permanent contract based in Glasgow with Hybrid Working arrangements.

About the role

The Head of Procurement plays a pivotal role in shaping, implementing, and overseeing the procurement strategies of the organisation. Reporting directly to the Director of Procurement, this role ensures that all sourcing and supply chain activities align with corporate objectives, regulatory requirements, and best practice standards. The Head of Procurement leads a multidisciplinary team, fosters supplier relationships, and delivers value across all procurement activities, supporting business continuity and sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain strong professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strategic Development & Implementation
  • Support the Director of Procurement in developing and executing the company's procurement strategy.
  • Translate organisational objectives into actionable procurement plans, policies, and targets.
  • Monitor market trends, identify risks and opportunities, and make recommendations for strategic sourcing initiatives.

Person Specification
  • Relevant degree (e.g. Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field); professional procurement qualification preferred (e.g. CIPS, CPSM).
  • Proven experience in a senior procurement role, ideally within a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing procurement strategies, delivering cost savings, and fostering value-driven supplier relationships.
  • Experience in leading, developing, and motivating high-performing procurement teams.
  • Strong understanding of procurement law, contract negotiations, risk management, and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience leveraging procurement technology solutions and data analytics to drive decision making.
  • Strategic thinking and strong business acumen
  • Exceptional negotiation and influencing skills
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, and people management abilities
  • Strong analytical, financial, and commercial skills
  • Outstanding stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure, delivering results to deadlines

Salary and Benefits
  • Up to £72,000 per annum/Full Time Equivalent.
