About the role

Join Connect Plus Services as a Programme Manager for Structures, responsible for delivering a £40m annual programme of renewal and improvement projects across the M25 - one of the UK's busiest and most complex motorway networks.

Leading a team of Project Managers, you will oversee around 90 projects each year, ensuring they are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards. The role covers the full project lifecycle, from early investigation and design development through to construction and handover, working closely with contractors, stakeholders and the client to achieve predictable and cost-effective delivery.

What you'll be doing

You will demonstrate visible safety leadership, ensuring high standards of behavioural safety within your teams in line with Making Safety Personal. You will review programmes and budget forecasts with Project Managers, analyse performance trends, identify issues and risks, and maintain reporting quality.

You will manage project costs with Senior QS support, advise on scope or budget changes, and ensure alignment with fiscal objectives. Strong stakeholder engagement is essential, building and maintaining relationships with Asset Delivery Managers, project teams, and clients to ensure project requirements are clearly understood.

You will oversee resource allocation, ensuring compliance with CDM regulations throughout project delivery, and prepare portfolio delivery reports for clients and senior leadership. You will ensure all projects comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.

Who we're looking for

We are seeking a Portfolio Manager with proven experience delivering a programme of projects of comparable value. You will have strong leadership skills, experience managing teams in a matrix organisation, and the ability to manage multiple projects under pressure. You will be familiar with industry safety standards and regulations, and hold a Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a relevant field, or have equivalent industry experience.

You will hold Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification (e.g., AMP PMQ) and have a good working knowledge of NEC3 and NEC4 Contracts. The role requires excellent communication, organisational, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to drive efficient delivery across a large and complex portfolio.
