In 2021 we have started the construction of a new Waste-to-Energy facility in Rivenhall (Essex) for an investment budget of £500 million with renewable energy and net-zero carbon targets. The facility will comply with the most stringent environmental standards, supply electricity to 60.000 households and offer employment to about 60 employees. The plant is operational since August 2025
We are currently looking for a highly motivated project manager with a Civil Engineering background to develop and deliver the new developments on site in addition to supporting new investment projects in the wider area of South-East England.
This position is a fixed-term contract for 36 months.

This position is a fixed-term contract for 36 months.
Role & Responsibilities
- Project manager for the upcoming civil investments, mostly being part of a project team,
- Selecting civil consultants for detailed design and tendering
- Managing the design and engineering works and preparation of the tender books, by civil consultants
- Assessment of bids from contractors and final selection
- Involvement from the design phase through the tender phase of the site development contract until the completion of the civil works of the new developments on site.
- Firm representation for the client towards the contractors, assisted by the consultants/technical advisors.
- Preparing the applications for any required planning permits and EA permit variations, in conjunction with the incumbent permit consultants and Indaver team.
- Present on the site and not afraid to getting your boots dirty. Make practical arrangements and take decisions.
- Monitor the progress and track works progress against contract programme and lookahead programmes. Will make sure that the works are executed in conformance with the contracts. Witness for issues on site to help protect Indaver against inaccurate claims from subcontractors
- Foresight to minimize any conflict
- Attend regular co-ordination meetings with the contractors
- Ensure that all the construction work can be executed in a safe way and Inspect and record health, safety and environment observations
- Consult where appropriate Indaver Health & Safety to ensure that all safety standards are followed.
- Monitor contractor's safety and environmental standards and ensure that they comply with Indaver standards and legislation/industry good practice
- Degree in Civil engineering
- Have a track record in delivering large scale civil construction projects. Experience in heavy civil engineering works, buried services, road construction and large steel frames.
- Have experience with applying for Planning permits and knowledge of EA permits
- Project planning experience is essential
- Thorough knowledge (legal, technical, functional) of Construction management. and health and safety regulations
- Proficient with contracts -NEC, IChemE (FIDIC), You will be familiar with UK legal contracts pertaining to the works and can demonstrate prior experience of dealing with contract and claims management.
- You will be fair, decisive, assertive, diligent, detail and solution orientated, with a track record of completing large, complex civil projects.
- You will be organised and have strong administration skills and can demonstrate prior experience of managing site meetings, action list and key deliverables.
- You will be a competent negotiator and able to convincingly carry complex arguments to a successful in partnership with the client in order to deliver the aims of Indaver.
