Detailed job description and main responsibilities

To manage the Infrastructure Departments technical projects to a successful and expected conclusion.

To take responsibility for ensuring that all projects are run to appropriate methodologies and that an auditable trail exists throughout the life of the project.

To create and manage related business case and PID documentation

To negotiate with clinical and management colleagues a practical plan regarding project deliverables as required to achieve the strategy.

To monitor the progress of each work-stream against the agreed project plan and intervene at any point where there is a risk of delay, resource overuse or unacceptable quality.

To create and regularly update the delivery of related projects within the project team management software in the interest of the progressing the project to meet goals and milestones.

Qualifications / training

Essential criteria
  • University Degree or Equivalent relevant experience
  • Recognised Project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2)
  • Evidence of continuous professional development

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of IT project management with responsibility for overall project delivery and budget
  • Previous IT health sector experience, ideally within a community setting
  • Experience of business change project management
  • Able to develop highly effective working partnerships and alliances with staff at all levels

Skills/knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Able to chair meetings and present to large and diverse groups of people
  • Excellent communication skills, oral and written including ability to disseminate highly complex information to a range of staff and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrable high-level presentation skills having communicated complex ideas / proposals to a variety of levels of staff across multiple organisations
  • Ability to achieve challenging deadlines and targets
  • Able to project a confident, positive and assertive manner in dealing with stakeholders
  • Able to diplomatically handle assertive stakeholders to gain and retain their confidence

Personal qualities

Essential criteria
  • Ability to work with clinical and non-clinical staff of all disciplines
  • Ability to talk about IM&T in a clear and simple way to non-IT staff, and to engage with clinicians in an effective manner
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to be proactive and to think creatively
  • Self motivating with a flexible approach to work and ability to work independently

UK Home Office Visa Sponsorship requirements

In accordance with UK Home Office requirements, Band 2 clinical and non-clinical roles and Band 3 Non-Clinical roles are not eligible for sponsorship.

Please note that the majority of non-clinical roles (Agenda for Change Band 3 - 6) with the exception of those which appear on this list - link, will not meet the minimum requirements set by UK Visas and Immigration to sponsor candidates to work in the UK.

All non-clinical roles (Agenda for Change Bands 7 - 9) that meet the prescribed skill level (RQF 6) and salary threshold will be eligible for sponsorship.

The Trust will accept applications from candidates who can evidence their right to work in the UK or via alternative visa routes.

DBS Costs

Please be aware that all new employees starting work with the Trust will be charged for the cost of their DBS check if it is required for the role. The cost will be deducted from your salary in 3 payments over a 3-month period once you start employment. By applying for this role, you are agreeing to these deductions being made. The charges for the DBS include the administration fee. The total costs are £26.40 for a standard check and £54.40 for an enhanced check. The level of check will be determined by the post you are applying for. For bank Workers the full cost of the DBS check (as detailed above) will be deducted from your pay following completion of your online mandatory training. No payment will be made for your online training until it is all complete and verified by the Temporary Staffing Team. Please note: You will not be able to work any bank shifts until you have completed your mandatory training, and your DBS is in place.
