Job Description
The Trainee Project Manager will be learning how to carry out a diverse range of tasks on a live construction project that includes a variety of trade disciplines.
The primary role of the Trainee Project Manager will be to learn the role of and assist the Project Manager in ensuring that the allocated project is run efficiently and profitably ensuring full compliance to Health & Safety legislation, CDM regulations and contract conditions. The most critical conditions being that all work is completed in a safe working manner to a high standard, within programme and to the total satisfaction of our client.

Please note: this role requires an Enhanced DBS check (including the Children's and Adults' Barred List) and may include additional vetting in line with client requirements.

This is a full time position and hours of work will be 42 hours per week. This will also involve daily travel and working away as deemed necessary for the needs of the business.
07:45hrs to 17:15hrs Monday to Thursday
07:45hrs to 16:45hrs Friday

What we need
- Working towards or holding a construction related qualification i.e. BSc in Construction Management, HNC/HND would be desirable
- Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS or SSSTS)
- GCSE or equivalent Grade C or above in English Language, Literacy and Numeracy
- Experience within the construction industry would be beneficial
- Exceptional leadership, management and organisational skills
- Confident with a range of IT systems and software
- Self-motivated, proactive and a positive attitude
- Excellent team player with the ability to integrate and inspire others
- Full UK driving licence (minimum 6 months' experience post-test)
- Willingness to undertake training and personal development
- Commitment to maintaining professional standards and continuous improvement

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with experienced project managers to learn and assist in overseeing construction projects.
- Co-ordinate with various teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Embrace a proactive approach to problem solving and contribute to project planning and execution.
- Supporting and monitoring Health & Safety practices and CDM regulations on site.
- Attendance of regular site meetings with client, architect, quantity surveyor, planning supervisor etc.
- Assisting and learning the preparation of reports, programmes, progress and profitability reports.
- Contribute to formulating valuations and final accounts.
- Managing the latest construction management software, Procore and 1Breadcrumb.
- Learn how to procure, negotiate terms and monitor the performance of sub-contractors and suppliers.
- Site administration and performing routine checks.
- Identify and implement improvements to any aspect of the service that we provide.
- Understand how to source new clients and suppliers.
- Ensure that exceptional levels of customer care are always provided.
- Produce relevant monthly reports for the Project Manager e.g. cost and value comparisons, turnover forecasts etc. ensuring information is complete and accurate.
- Contribute to and attend financial and progress meetings with the client, engineers and subcontractors as required.
- Provide support to the site team to optimise the use of contract resources.
- Provide support for the Project Manager in terms of data input etc.
- Achieving deadlines in line with requirements.
- Provide cover for other associated staff during times of absence.
- Regular use of our bespoke computer system and other software packages such as Word, Excel and Project.
- Duties and responsibilities will vary in line with progress.
