Leonardo UK is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of Radar Test Equipment Calibration & Maintenance & Obsolescence contract, supporting Typhoon Radar production and in-service capability across the Euroradar consortium.
Reporting to the Lead Project Manager and based in Edinburgh (3-4 days per week onsite), this Hybrid role will lead a cross-functional Integrated Project Team (IPT) responsible for:
What you will do as a Project Manager
Contract & Delivery Ownership
Integration with Test Equipment & Operations
The PM will be accountable for ensuring that C&M activity enables, not constrains radar production throughput. Working closely with Test Equipment Engineering, Production and Operations teams to ensure:
Supplier & Sub-Contract Management
Drive supplier performance through clear governance, recovery planning and escalation where required. Supported by procurement department, lead structured oversight of sustainment key suppliers
Euroradar Workshare Partner Coordination
Leads alignment for delivery with workshare partners. Responsibilities include:
Customer Interface
Primary PM interface to purchaser and customer accountable for:
Obsolescence Monitoring
Supported by engineering teams through the Typhoon Obsolescence review board:
Governance & Performance Reporting
Prepare and present a Monthly Project Performance Review (PPR) to the Lead PM and Programme Manager, including:
Risk Register
Maintain and actively manage the contract level risk register covering:

Leonardo UK is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of Radar Test Equipment Calibration & Maintenance & Obsolescence contract, supporting Typhoon Radar production and in-service capability across the Euroradar consortium.
Reporting to the Lead Project Manager and based in Edinburgh (3-4 days per week onsite), this Hybrid role will lead a cross-functional Integrated Project Team (IPT) responsible for:
- Annual calibration of ML4 Customer owned Test Equipment
- Periodic, preventative and reactive maintenance
- Asset management and configuration control
- Obsolescence monitoring and lifecycle risk management
- Six-monthly consortium reporting to the Customer
What you will do as a Project Manager
Contract & Delivery Ownership
- Own end-to-end delivery of the Calibration & Maintenance contracts.
- Deliver annual customer milestones and payment plans.
- Maintain an integrated project plan covering calibration cycles, maintenance windows, downtime forecasts and reporting obligations.
- Ensure full compliance with the approved Statement of Work and WBS structure
- Protect margin through proactive cost control, risk management and performance oversight.
Integration with Test Equipment & Operations
The PM will be accountable for ensuring that C&M activity enables, not constrains radar production throughput. Working closely with Test Equipment Engineering, Production and Operations teams to ensure:
- Calibration cycles are executed without production disruption.
- Maintenance downtime is forecasted, controlled and minimised.
- Problem Reports and reactive maintenance are driven to timely closure.
- Asset configuration, usage data and reporting inputs are accurate and audit ready.
Supplier & Sub-Contract Management
Drive supplier performance through clear governance, recovery planning and escalation where required. Supported by procurement department, lead structured oversight of sustainment key suppliers
- Long-lead spares procurement and asset sustainment strategy.
- Monitoring spares holdings (internal and supplier held).
- Managing pricing validity, performance exposure and delivery risk.
Euroradar Workshare Partner Coordination
Leads alignment for delivery with workshare partners. Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring consistent interpretation of the Statement of Works across partners
- Consolidating six-monthly reporting into a coherent Euroradar position.
- Aligning cross-nation risks, issues and mitigation strategies.
- Maintaining constructive stakeholder engagement at operational and project level.
Customer Interface
Primary PM interface to purchaser and customer accountable for:
- Contract performance
- Payment milestone evidence
- Risk & opportunity management
- Escalations and recovery plans
- Support to future bid phases
- Maintain strong customer confidence through transparency, control and credible delivery leadership.
Obsolescence Monitoring
Supported by engineering teams through the Typhoon Obsolescence review board:
- Proactive monitoring, identification and management of obsolescence exposure, ensuring emerging components risks are identified early and mitigation plans are documented in the obsolescence notification forms and sent to BAES Systems.
- Highlight high risk notifications and develop plans to protect production continuity and contractual margin.
Governance & Performance Reporting
Prepare and present a Monthly Project Performance Review (PPR) to the Lead PM and Programme Manager, including:
- Schedule and Financial performance (CSR, EAC, cost variance, margin)
- Calibration & maintenance execution metrics
- 3-6 month forward downtime forecast
- SOFT status (risks, supplier performance, production impacts, obsolescence exposure)
- Partner & customer issues and upcoming milestones
Risk Register
Maintain and actively manage the contract level risk register covering:
- Calibration and maintenance failure risks
- Production impact risks
- Supplier delivery exposure
- Obsolescence risks
- Commercial & margin exposure
What you'll bring
- Proven PM experience delivering engineering projects in defence or aerospace environments.
- Desirable if you have a background in test equipment, equipment maintenance, sub-contracts
- Experience managing fixed-price contracts with margin accountability.
- Strong supplier and sub-contract management experience.
- Confident leadership style - decisive, credible and delivery-focused.
- Strong financial acumen (cost control, EAC management, margin protection).
- Desirable experience operating within multi-partner or consortium environments.
