We are seeking an experienced and driven Construction Manager with a PCSM qualification to join our Power Transmission & Distribution (T&D) team. This is a key leadership role responsible for planning, managing, and delivering construction activities on a major infrastructure project.
The Role
As Construction Manager, you will take ownership of site delivery, ensuring works are completed safely, sustainably, and to the highest standards of quality, cost, and programme. You will play a critical role in supporting the wider project team and leading a high-performing, multidisciplinary workforce

The Role
As Construction Manager, you will take ownership of site delivery, ensuring works are completed safely, sustainably, and to the highest standards of quality, cost, and programme. You will play a critical role in supporting the wider project team and leading a high-performing, multidisciplinary workforce
What you'll be doing
- Lead and manage OHL construction activities from planning through to handover and certification.
- Maintain strong governance and project controls, including progress reporting, digital records, and stakeholder engagement.
- Apply technical expertise to interpret drawings, specifications, and buildability requirements, translating them into safe site delivery.
- Champion Zero Harm, ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and environmental legislation, writing and reviewing RAMS, and driving behavioural safety.
- Manage and coordinate subcontractors, plant, materials, and resources to meet programme milestones.
- Develop and lead high-performing site teams, ensuring competency, productivity, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor progress using short interval control and productivity techniques, implementing corrective actions where required.
- Own and manage budgets for allocated works, controlling costs, managing change, and identifying opportunities for cost recovery.
- Lead risk and opportunity management, maintaining risk registers and escalating issues as appropriate.
- Ensure quality assurance processes are followed, audits are completed, and KPI performance is achieved.
- Promote effective use of digital tools and data to support informed, data-driven decision making.
- Proven experience delivering Overhead Line (OHL) construction projects.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams and supply chain partners.
- Solid understanding of health, safety, environmental, quality, and commercial requirements in construction.
- Experience managing programmes, resources, and budgets on complex infrastructure projects.
- Confident communicator, able to engage stakeholders and lead teams effectively
The following qualities/experience are essential:
- Able to demonstrate a track record of project delivery
- Good understanding of the standard forms of contracts
- Proficient in commercial/project management communications
- Experience in implementing safe systems of work
- Able to communicate effectively both verbal and written with all levels of the
organisation - Effective team management skills which empower, influence & inspire others
to build effective teams. Providing mentoring and support to members of the
team where required - Commercially astute
- Able to undertake work in high pressure situations
- Good knowledge of performance evaluation techniques and key metrics
- Record of a solution-based approach to problem solving
- Ability to see the business vision and inspire this shared vision amongst the
team - Communications - Verbally, Written, Presenting
- Communicate and check understanding of daily briefings
- Two way communication eg brief out weekly safety pack
- Discuss ideas and plans competently and with confidence
- Communicate new concepts and ideas to technical and non-technical
stakeholders - Effective personal and social skills
- Awareness and promotion the benefits of diversity and inclusion
- Identify and drive personal development
- Experience of working on a variety of project types
- Proficient on O365
- Holds a current driving licence
- CSCS and SMSTS or Equivalent
