General ManagementWe are expanding our Transport Projects team and are seeking 4 Assistant Project Managers to help deliver improvements that make a real difference in our city.

Reporting to a Senior Project Manager or Programme Manager, youll support the work and delivery of a diverse and exciting portfolio of transport projects:

As this role is public facing, applicants will need to demonstrate, at interview, their competency to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public, in spoken English to CEFR level C1: Can express themselves fluently and spontaneously, almost effortlessly. Only a conceptually difficult subject can hinder a natural, smooth flow of language.
Hybrid working arrangements are available for this role. Each role at CYC is different and your working arrangements will be determined based on the requirements of the role and in collaboration with you and your needs as part of the recruitment process. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.
Please note, we do not have a sponsorship licence to sponsor indivdiuals for visas to work in the UK, therefore we are unable to offer sponsorship for this role.

- continued rollout of our electric vehicle charging infrastructure
- expansion of our park and ride sites
- complex road safety improvement projects and school streets
- the councils largest major roads project - York Outer Ring Road Dualling.
You will also be focussed on the provision and delivery of a high-quality, client responsive service.

- Start at Grade 8, with a clear pathway to Grade 9 once progression criteria are met.

- Experienced Assistant Project Managers who already meet Grade 9 criteria can join directly at that level.
