Are you organised, detail-focused, and enjoy supporting projects in a fast-paced, international environment? If yes, we are now looking for a Project Management Officer to join the Department for Business and Trade (DBT) in Germany.

Within the Embassy, the Department for Business and Trade (DBT) works to grow the UK economy, support businesses to export and invest, and strengthen international trade relationships. DBT Germany operates across the Germany Network, working closely with UK and German partners, with the Project Management Office (PMO) sitting at the heart of operations to support effective planning, coordination and delivery across the team.

Main purpose of job:

This is a full time (37,5 hours a week), fixed-term 2 year contract with the possibility of a permanent contract subject to performance and funding. Salary €52,704.- rising to a maximum of approx. €59,202.- gross per annum after a qualifying period in addition to performance related pay (salary is not negotiable). Candidate must have pre-existing work authorisation in Germany in order to apply.
Staff recruited locally by the British Embassy are subject to Terms and Conditions of Service according to local German employment law.
Start date is an indicative target start date.
Visa/work permit requirements: Candidates must currently hold the independent right to live and work in Germany and be prepared to ensure that right remains throughout the scope of the contract. - Provide administrative support for budgets, procurement and internal processes;
- Work with data and reporting, including dashboards, summaries and presentations;
- Support the planning and delivery of Ministerial and senior official visits, including logistics and briefings;
- Contribute to internal reporting and decision-making materials;
- Support events and internal/external activities across the network;
- Provide limited administrative cover for Executive Assistants when required;
- Maintain internal systems, records and documentation;
- Carry out general PMO and office support tasks as needed.

- Experience working with data, including analysis and reporting to support senior leaders with data-driven recommendations;
- Experience creating dashboards, reports or presentations, with the ability to translate complex information into clear and accessible language;
- Advanced or proficient user of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
- Excellent attention to detail and record-keeping skills;
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders;
- A collaborative team player, with enthusiasm for working in an international environment;
- Willingness to support across a wide range of tasks as required.
Desirable qualifications, skills and experience
Nice to have:
- Interest in business, economics and the UK-Germany relationship;
