We serve a diverse community, we have a diverse workforce and we are committed to being an inclusive employer.

We work hard to create representation across our workforce and leadership community, we have thriving employee network groups and our learning and development programmes help us lead, model and breathe ways of working that eliminate inequality, inequity, injustice and bias.

As part of this and under our commitments as a Disability Confident Employer, we make reasonable adjustments to accommodate our candidates. There's space for you to tell us what you need within our application form.

About The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Asset and Investment Planning team as a Property Project Manager. In this role, you will lead the delivery of a programme of capital construction projects across the Council's education portfolio.

You will work closely with colleagues in Children & Adult Services to assess service needs against the capacity and condition of the existing estate, helping to shape and deliver construction projects that provide a compliant and effective response to the updated national SEND guidance.

This role offers the chance to develop your skills across a diverse range of capital projects, both large and small, while gaining valuable insight into how the Council's leadership makes decisions that enable positive change across the borough.

About The Team You'll Be Working In

Based within the Housing, Planning and Economic Regeneration directorate, the team is outward facing and works closely with schools and service leads to understand emerging educational needs, particularly the increasing demand for specialist SEND provision. This gives you the opportunity not only to gain insight into a wide range of services and school environments, but also to deliver high quality, fit for purpose projects that improve outcomes for children, young people, and families-reinforcing our commitment to the One Hounslow ethos.

The Corporate Property Asset and Investment Planning Team is a small but vital part of the Council's Asset Strategy division. You will report to the Asset and Investment Planning Manager and, although you will have no direct line management responsibilities, you will work closely with other Property Project Managers and an Asset and Investment Planning Officer. You will also work directly with school leadership teams, key stakeholders across Children & Adult Services, and the Council's appointed consultants and contractors to support the delivery of SEND focused capital projects.

Residents are at the heart of everything we do at Hounslow. Through sustained capital investment, we are delivering construction projects that enhance services, create new opportunities, and make a real and lasting difference for our communities.

About You
If the points below resonate with you, we'd love you to put in an application:

1. You have experience managing construction projects or programmes in a complex environment, such as a public sector organisation, within planned timescales, budgets and the required quality.

2. You have experience of providing technical services, reports and professional advice to Council directorates and services on all investment, maintenance and construction project related matters.

3. You are experienced at leading procurements to appoint contractors and advisors in line with legislation and relevant policies and procedures.

4. You are an expert communicator able to communicate complex concepts and issues clearly and simply to a wide range of stakeholders across the organisation.

5. Your written skills enable you to both deliver reports yourself and support others to improve their reports, including on topics that you may not be familiar with.

6.You have a range of IT skills and can format presentations and spreadsheets for a range of audiences, ensuring key information is selected and clearly laid out.
