About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Project Manager - Italy to lead and deliver operational projects within a live data centre environment. This role acts as a critical link between design teams, project delivery teams, external stakeholders, and operational staff.
You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with corporate objectives, while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and operational excellence.

About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Project Manager - Italy to lead and deliver operational projects within a live data centre environment. This role acts as a critical link between design teams, project delivery teams, external stakeholders, and operational staff.
You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with corporate objectives, while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and operational excellence.
Scope of Work
- Maintenance projects
- Efficiency improvement initiatives
- Site rebuilds
- Customer-driven projects
- Operations systems development
- Activities related to company expansion plans
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage project plans and implementation strategies
- Ensure proper handover to operations or customers upon project completion
- Own and manage project budgets, including planning and follow-up
- Oversee resource allocation and supplier management
- Participate in and support steering committees
- Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards
Core Tasks
- Lead, supervise, and drive progress across all assigned projects
- Ensure timely delivery of projects in line with budget and organisational objectives
- Act as the primary point of contact for all stakeholders, including clients, contractors, designers, and authorities
- Oversee local project design and execution, ensuring alignment with facility operations
- Manage and track project budgets in collaboration with Cost Controllers
- Monitor milestones, validate progress, and report deviations to management
- Collaborate with IT on technical project requirements, approvals, and changes
- Coordinate with Operations and Site Management regarding permits, handovers, and documentation
- Ensure adherence to project, operational, and financial processes
- Enforce safety standards and ensure compliance with legal and company requirements
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment, ensuring contractor compliance
- Develop and maintain framework agreements with key suppliers and contractors
- Support management reporting and provide insights on project performance
- Contribute expertise and support across the wider project management function
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience managing projects from initiation to completion, including scope, timelines, and delivery
- Strong budgeting, forecasting, and cost control capabilities
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders across different levels, including C-level and technical teams
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to align teams toward common goals
- Strong technical understanding and ability to manage requirements throughout the project lifecycle
- Experience working in fast-paced, high-demand environments
- Collaborative and inclusive leadership style, fostering team growth and engagement
Education & Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- 3-5 years' experience as a Project Manager or in a similar role
- Minimum 5 years' experience in Data Centre or comparable critical environments
- Project Management certification such as PMP®, PRINCE2, or equivalent is preferred
- Strong technical competence and problem-solving skills
- Fluent in English and Italian
