As a Superintendent, you will play a vital role in our company's operations, specializing in Electrical, Automation, and NavCom systems. Your primary focus will be to ensure the safe and efficient functioning of these systems, adhering to all relevant regulations and internal procedures. You will work collaboratively with vessel crews, service providers, and internal teams to plan, coordinate, and execute maintenance activities, troubleshoot issues, and drive technical improvements.

As a Superintendent, you will play a vital role in our company's operations, specializing in Electrical, Automation, and NavCom systems. Your primary focus will be to ensure the safe and efficient functioning of these systems, adhering to all relevant regulations and internal procedures. You will work collaboratively with vessel crews, service providers, and internal teams to plan, coordinate, and execute maintenance activities, troubleshoot issues, and drive technical improvements.
Responsibilities
- Plan and oversee maintenance and repair activities for electrical, automation, and NavCom systems, both planned and unplanned.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to vessel crews, ensuring timely resolution of equipment-related issues.
- Coordinate with service providers and vendors for troubleshooting, upgrades, and system updates, maintaining high safety standards.
- Support budgeting and cost control processes for maintenance, spare parts, and technical upgrades.
- Assist with class renewals, surveys, and audits by preparing necessary documentation and coordinating actions.
- Drive technical upgrades and modifications, including automation and digitalization initiatives, to enhance vessel performance.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation and reporting for assigned vessels.
OT Cyber Security Focus: - Maintain an overview of critical shipboard systems and their connectivity, ensuring transparency of key interfaces and remote access arrangements.
- Support practical access control and secure remote support in cooperation with Fleet IT and vendors.
- Promote resilience by ensuring awareness of configuration baselines and backup/recovery principles for critical systems.
Contribute to incident handling and continuous improvement by providing operational input and participating in reviews and lessons learned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
- Several years of professional experience in a maritime or related field, preferably as a Superintendent for Electrical, Automation, and NavCom systems.
- Proven expertise in industrial automation, instrumentation, and control systems, including PLC, SCADA, and VFDs.
- Strong knowledge of low and medium voltage systems up to 6.6 kV, with experience in power management and distribution.
- Familiarity with shore power connections and emerging technologies like IoT-based monitoring and energy efficiency solutions.
- Ability to review and update electrical documentation, including wiring diagrams and load analysis.
- Experience with ship management systems, preferably SERTICA, and a good understanding of OT cybersecurity principles.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a cost-conscious mindset and interest in operational management.
- Collaborative and solution-oriented working style, with strong communication skills in English.
- Willingness to travel frequently, including international assignments, and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office.
