About the Role

1Spatial Group Limited is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and deliver complex projects within our geospatial software and services portfolio. You will play a critical role in managing project delivery, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope and budget, while meeting quality standards.

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing multiple projects, managing stakeholder engagement, risk management, and driving continuous improvement in project processes and delivery. You will work closely with clients, internal teams, and partners to ensure successful project outcomes and customer satisfaction.

We use SFIA levels as the basis for our career development framework and we expect to recruit an individual for this role at SFIA level 4 - 5 with proven experience of project management within the geospatial domain. Remote working opportunities may also be considered for more experienced individuals.

You will be responsible for:
    • Leading the planning, execution, monitoring and closure of geospatial and software projects.
    • Managing project scope, timelines, budgets and resources effectively.
    • Collaborating with cross-functional teams including product management, development, sales, and professional services.
    • Maintaining effective communication with stakeholders, providing regular updates and managing expectations.
    • Identifying, assessing and mitigating project risks and issues promptly.
    • Implementing project management best practices and continuous process improvements.
    • Ensuring compliance with company policies, standards, and customer requirements.

Requirements

Required Skills and Experience:
    • Proven experience in project management, preferably in software or technology sectors.
    • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall.
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
    • Experience in risk management, issue resolution, and change management.
    • Proficient in project management tools (e.g., Jira, MS Project, MS Office).
    • Strong leadership skills with a focus on team collaboration and motivation.
    • Due to our current active market sectors and projects, candidates must be eligible and willing to undergo Security Check (SC) clearance. This normally requires residency in the UK for the past 5 years.
    • Familiarity with ISO 9001 (Quality Management) and ISO 27001 (Information Security).

Desirable Skills and Experience:
    • PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent project management certification
    • Experience of Pre-sales, Account management, Bid preparation,
    • Experience in the geospatial, GIS or related technology field.
    • Understanding of software development lifecycle and technical concepts.
    • Experience working in international or multi-cultural environments.
    • Knowledge of contractual and financial aspects of project delivery.
