Job Description

PROJECT MANAGER | PRODUCT | LANGLEY, UK

Travel obsessed? Big tech fan? Hey, you're in good company. If you want to be part of the industry that makes the world go round, then look no further.

Travelport is the brains behind lots of your travel bookings- plane, car or hotel. Our technology is used to book that magical holiday, infamous bachelorette party or long overdue school reunion. While we can't solve mosquito bites or lost luggage, we can simplify a lot of the technical parts of travel, and we're looking for the best thinkers to help us do it.

We're hiring right now for a Project Manager! Search for #Travelport on LinkedIn and hear from our amazing team.

What does a great Project Manager do?

A Data Project Manager is responsible for delivering meaningful data outcomes-not just managing process. They enable the successful delivery of data, analytics, and insight-driven initiatives that lead to real business decisions, improved performance, and measurable results.

They are accountable for scope, delivery timelines, quality, and outcomes across data initiatives, ensuring teams focus on solving the right problems and delivering usable, trusted data products.

The Data Project Manager fosters a high-performing, outcome-focused environment that values progress over perfection, learning over ceremony, and results over activity.

Your role in action:
  • Project manage the end-to-end delivery of data initiatives, ensuring work results in tangible business value such as improved decision-making, operational insight, or performance improvement.
  • Act as an active member of Agile or hybrid delivery teams, using Agile practices pragmatically to drive momentum, clarity, and results-rather than process adherence for its own sake.
  • Serve as a servant leader, proactively removing impediments that slow or dilute delivery outcomes, including data quality issues, access constraints, unclear ownership, or unresolved dependencies.
  • Facilitate key delivery touchpoints (e.g. stand-ups, planning sessions, reviews, retrospectives) with a focus on:
    • What was delivered
    • What value it enabled
    • What needs to change to accelerate results
  • Ensure business and analytical requirements are outcome-driven, working with stakeholders including senior leadership, analysts and engineers to prioritise work based on impact, not just demand.
  • Translate strategy and demand into clear, outcome-oriented delivery plans, balancing speed, quality, and sustainability.
  • Manage cross-team dependencies and coordination, ensuring delivery teams can focus on execution while risks and blockers are addressed early.
  • Maintain transparent, decision-focused stakeholder communication, clearly articulating progress, risks, trade-offs, and expected outcomes.
  • Plan and manage releases of data products and analytics capabilities.

Could this be you?
  • Sufficient years in Project Management and/or Scrum Master roles, ideally with some experience delivering data, analytics, BI, or data platform initiatives with demonstrable business impact.
  • A strong track record of delivering outcomes, not just running delivery processes or ceremonies.
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary delivery teams, such as data engineers, analysts, developers, architects, and business stakeholders.
  • A pragmatic approach to Agile delivery in data environments, knowing when to adapt ways of working to suit the problem and context.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to:
    • Focus stakeholders on outcomes and value
    • Set clear expectations
    • Drive decisions rather than deferring them
  • Strong stakeholder management and conflict resolution skills, comfortable operating within matrixed environments and competing priorities.
  • Ability to manage delivery dependencies, sequencing, and flow, keeping work moving towards outcomes rather than stagnating in analysis or process.
  • A results-oriented mindset, ensuring data outputs translate into action, insight, and measurable benefit.
  • Hands-on experience with delivery and planning tools such as Jira, Aha!, or similar platforms.
  • Experience within the travel industry or other complex, data-rich environments is desirable but not essential.

You will thrive in an inclusive, diverse, and outcomes-driven environment, where delivery success is measured by the value created, not the number of ceremonies completed. We encourage curiosity, challenge, and accountability-and we value people who can turn data into action, not just dashboards.
