Balfour Beatty is recruiting a Project Manager to join Balvac, our specialist construction and remediation business working on some of the UK's most technically challenging projects.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll take full responsibility for safely delivering projects to time, cost and quality standards - while building strong customer relationships and driving continuous improvement.

About the Role

As Project Manager, you will lead project teams and supply chains from pre-construction through to completion, taking ownership of operational, commercial and safety performance.

What you'll be doing

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver projects safely, on time and within budget, with full P&L responsibility
  • Lead safety with passion and credibility, embedding a Zero Harm culture and driving continuous improvement
  • Engage closely with customers to manage change, expectations and long-term relationships
  • Drive strong sustainability performance, promoting efficient management of waste, energy and water
  • Embed operational excellence through leadership health checks and rigorous monthly project improvement processes
  • Ensure effective planning, risk management, project controls and reporting
  • Apply Lean construction principles and digital tools such as BIM360Field to optimise performance and safety
  • Maintain a strong understanding of contract terms and conditions to support commercial decision-making

Who we're looking for

You will have the following:
  • Experience in project management within the construction sector
  • Confident leader with strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Commercially aware with experience managing project finances
  • Experience or strong understanding of Lean construction principles (desirable)
  • Valid CSCS card
  • Professional qualification (e.g. APMP) - desirable
