Your role

As a Project Manager - Sustaining, your mission is to define and delivers the sustaining engineering project portfolio for PCC, setting clear project strategies, plans, and governance to protect product availability, performance, and profitability throughout the lifecycle. The role leads cross-functional projects including obsolescence management, cost reduction/value engineering, and product support improvements, ensuring robust scope definition, stakeholder alignment, risk management, and on-time delivery of agreed outcomes. You will report to a Technical Manager.

You will

  • Own the sustaining engineering project portfolio (including obsolescence and cost reduction), translating business and technical needs into a prioritised roadmap with clear objectives, scope, and success measures.
  • Develop and maintain integrated plans (schedule, resources, dependencies) and lead execution from initiation through implementation, ensuring on-time delivery and controlled scope.
  • Establish and run project governance including cadence, reporting, decision logs, and escalation routes; maintain RAID and communicate status transparently.
  • Lead cross-functional obsolescence projects (electrical, mechanical, software/firmware, supplier, compliance), ensuring continuity of supply and support across the product lifecycle.
  • Define and drive cost reduction project strategy, identifying and prioritising opportunities (BOM, labour, supplier, test/verification, manufacturing yield) while protecting performance, reliability, and compliance.
  • Engage and influence stakeholders across PCC, divisions, and external suppliers to align priorities, secure resources, and resolve conflicts.
  • Improve sustaining project delivery by developing and embedding standard ways of working, templates, and lessons learned to increase predictability and throughput.

To succeed, you will need

We encourage you to apply even if you don't meet every single requirement. We value diverse experiences and perspectives and are excited to see what you bring to the role.

  • Recognised Project Management qualification (e.g. APM PMQ, PRINCE2) or equivalent experience (Essential).
  • Educated to Degree level in an Engineering/Science discipline or equivalent relevant experience (Desirable).
  • Training in continuous improvement/value engineering (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma) (Desirable).
  • Experience managing cross-functional engineering projects end-to-end (scope, schedule, cost, risk) (Essential).
  • Experience working in sustaining engineering / product lifecycle environments, including change control and release practices (Essential).
  • Demonstrated delivery of obsolescence mitigation and/or supplier change projects (Desirable).
  • Strong planning, prioritisation and governance skills; able to build and maintain robust project plans and drive actions to closure (Essential).
  • Skilled in risk management (RAID), dependency management and structured problem solving (Essential).
  • Commercial awareness; able to articulate trade-offs between cost, risk, schedule, and technical performance (Essential).
  • Excellent stakeholder management, facilitation and negotiation skills across multiple organisational levels (Essential).

In return, we offer

  • Culture of trust and accountability
  • Lifelong learning and career growth
  • Innovation powered by people
  • Comprehensive compensation and benefits
  • Health and well-being
