Your new opportunity

Quarriers Youth Housing Support
is currently recruiting a full-time Deputy Manager to lead and a dedicated team who support young people aged 16-25 years who are homeless. We provide quality support and build professional relationships to enable young people to sustain their tenancy and reduce repeat homelessness.

As Deputy Manager you will work with staff to ensure the young people supported are positively mentored and while their individual needs are supported. Some of the young people we support will have experienced severe trauma in their young lives, therefore you will lead the team and champion #keepingthepromise so that Scotland's children and young people grow up loved, safe and respected. A key part of the role will be to listen and build strong trusting relationships with staff and young people to ensure they feel safe and heard.

You will work closely with the wider management team and be included in managing staff rota/shift cover. On-Call responsibilities to cover youth housing support services within Quarriers is included within this role.

This is a full-time role, working 39 hours per week.

Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, out of hours telephone support service cover will be required.

£33,015 per annum

What you will need to bring to the role
  • Compassion and kindness to support people in their day to day lives.
  • SVQ 3 in Social Services and Healthcare, or prepared to work towards it
  • PDA in Health and Social Care Supervision, or prepared to work towards it
  • Ability to support and manage a team.
  • Enthusiasm and self-motivation.
  • Ability to apply transferable life experience and skills to support and enable individuals.
  • Excellent problem solver who is driven by positive outcomes.
  • Resilient, reliable and an excellent listener.
  • Good IT & communication skills.
