Job summary

This post is fixed term/secondment for 22 months due to funding until 31/03/2028.

Advanced Therapies are novel cell and gene therapies which are expected to transform current care pathways and with the potential to improve clinical outcomes across a number of disease sites. These emerging new therapies are already a reality with NICE guidance published on a number of these new products.

The Midland-Wales Advanced Therapy Treatment Centre (MW-ATTC) is part of a network of Advanced Therapy Treatment Centres (ATTC) across the UK with the objective of driving NHS readiness and research activity in the cell and gene therapy sector. The MWATTC (Phase 2) programme will be hosted by VUNHST, alongside University Hospitals Birmingham. The organisation had previously hosted the MW-ATTC (Phase 1) programme between the years 2018 to 2022. MW-ATTC will align with the Advanced Therapies Wales (ATW) programme.

The post holder will play a vital role in supporting the implementation and ongoing management of the MW-ATTC (Phase 2). The successful candidate will be required to analyse and interpret key facts in order to support the Head of Advanced Therapies in making key strategic decisions.

Main duties of the job

Excellent interpersonal skills are essential, as the role requires positive engagement and collaboration with members of the ATTC network and other key stakeholder partners.

Good organisational skills and the ability to work with a high degree of autonomy are vital for this role. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in project management and successful delivery. Including experience in budget management.

You will have experience in managing teams with ability to provide leadership and guidance to junior members of the team.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in the project and programme management of a regional centre within a UK wide network.

To satisfy the requirements of this role occasional travel may be necessary
