Assistant Project Manager
Sizewell C | Bristol
Join one of the UK's most ambitious infrastructure programmes and help deliver the future of clean energy.
Sizewell C is entering a critical delivery phase, creating exciting opportunities for Assistant Project Managers to join the Engineering & Delivery function across several major programme areas.
This is an outstanding opportunity for developing project professionals to build experience on one of Europe's largest and most complex infrastructure projects, working alongside experienced delivery teams within a highly regulated and technically challenging environment.
You'll play a key role in supporting the delivery of engineering, procurement and manufacturing activities that will help power around 6 million homes with low-carbon electricity for generations to come.

Working closely with multidisciplinary teams including engineering, supply chain, quality, construction and suppliers, you'll help drive progress across key work packages while developing valuable experience within a world-class major programme environment.
A core focus of the wider Project Management team is advancing engineering maturity and securing critical supply chain capability through the maximum possible replication of the Hinkley Point C design, helping de-risk delivery and improve programme efficiency.
Opportunities are available across several key programme areas:
Mechanical, Electrical & HVAC (MEH)
Supporting the development and mobilisation of the MEH Alliance delivery model, helping shape collaborative delivery strategies informed by lessons learned from Hinkley Point C.
Nuclear Island (NI)
Supporting delivery across systems, buildings and contracts within the Nuclear Island programme, one of the most technically complex areas of the project.
Civil Works
Supporting the development and delivery of major civil engineering work packages, including engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction and commissioning activities.
Conventional Island & Balance of Plant (CI/BOP)
Supporting the delivery of engineering contracts and helping ensure technical, commercial and programme requirements are achieved safely and efficiently.
What You'll Be Doing
• Supporting the delivery of engineering studies and design activities across your programme area
• Working with multidisciplinary teams to prepare manufacturing, construction and engineering contracts
• Supporting procurement and supplier engagement activities
• Helping manage interfaces across systems, contracts and programme areas
• Supporting implementation of Sizewell C-specific design changes into delivery packages
• Assisting with the identification and management of technical risks and supply chain challenges
• Supporting delivery activities to ensure work is completed safely, on time, within budget and to quality standards
• Working closely with internal and external stakeholders including suppliers, contractors and engineering teams
• Supporting lessons learned, knowledge capture and continuous improvement activities across the programme
• Helping coordinate project activities within a matrix delivery environment

Why Join Us?
For more than 60 years, nuclear power stations in the UK have been quietly keeping Britain fuelled with massive amounts of home-grown energy.
Our teams up and down the country are proudly continuing to serve the nation - but they also have an eye on the future.
EDF is leading the UK's nuclear renaissance with the construction of a new nuclear power station at Hinkley Point C and plans for a new power station at Sizewell C in Suffolk.
Nuclear power is the most reliable, low-carbon energy source currently available to the UK. EDF is playing a key role in the development of nuclear sites, while Hinkley Point C will provide low-carbon electricity to meet 7% of the UK demand. The project is already making a positive impact on the local and national economy as well as boosting skills and education.
We're not just building new nuclear power stations. We're developing careers, upskilling generations and creating thousands of employment and apprenticeship opportunities across a variety of skills areas.
It takes a special kind of person to work in the nuclear energy industry and although we have thousands of them there's always a need for more.
Our industry has a mind-boggling range of opportunities and more jobs, and in more places, than you might think. But it's also an industry which is changing.
We're a responsible business and proud to be Britain's biggest generator of zero carbon electricity. With size, age and experience, we believe we can do even more.
