Project Manager - Power Transmission
Sizewell C | London

Be part of one of the UK's largest and most complex infrastructure programmes.

Sizewell C is at the forefront of the UK's clean energy future, delivering a new nuclear power station that will provide low-carbon electricity to around 6 million homes for decades to come. Following Financial Completion, the project is now moving into a critical delivery phase, creating exciting opportunities for experienced Project Managers to join the Engineering & Delivery function.

This is a career-defining opportunity to work on a nationally significant project, leading major engineering, procurement and manufacturing activities within a highly regulated and technically demanding environment.

The Opportunity

We are looking for talented Project Managers to help drive the successful delivery of engineering work by the Responsible Designer (RD), alongside the procurement, manufacturing and delivery of key contracts across the Sizewell C programme.

A key focus of the role will be advancing engineering maturity and securing critical supply chain capability through maximum replication of the Hinkley Point C design, helping de-risk delivery and drive efficiencies across the project.

You'll work closely with multidisciplinary teams including supply chain, engineering, quality, construction and delivery partners to prepare for and execute one of the most ambitious infrastructure programmes in Europe.

Opportunities are available across several key programme areas:

Mechanical, Electrical & HVAC (MEH)

Supporting the development and implementation of the MEH Alliance delivery model, helping shape innovative delivery strategies informed by lessons learned from Hinkley Point C.

Nuclear Island (NI)

Leading delivery across systems, buildings and contracts within the Nuclear Island programme, managing technically complex scopes valued up to £100m.

Civil Works

Supporting the strategy and delivery of major civil engineering work packages, including engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction and commissioning activities.

Conventional Island & Balance of Plant (CI/BOP)

Overseeing the delivery of engineering contracts and ensuring resources, technical requirements and programme objectives are achieved safely, on time and within budget.

What You'll Be Doing
• Taking a strategic overview of Systems, Structures and Components (SSCs) within your programme area
• Driving engineering studies and design delivery with the Responsible Designer and key contractors
• Supporting the preparation of post-FID contracts, technical specifications and procurement documentation
• Managing technical interfaces across contracts, systems and programme areas
• Driving implementation of Sizewell C-specific design changes into delivery packages
• Supporting procurement and supply chain activities for major engineering contracts
• Identifying technical risks, obsolescence challenges and opportunities for replication improvement
• Developing and implementing delivery strategies aligned to the Programme Execution Plan (PEP)
• Driving safe, high-quality delivery against cost and schedule objectives
• Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams across engineering, procurement, manufacturing and construction
• Supporting continuous improvement, lessons learned and knowledge capture across the programme

Why Join Sizewell C?

Sizewell C is one of the UK's most significant investments in clean energy infrastructure and one of the most exciting engineering projects in Europe.

Backed by the UK Government and major international investors including EDF, Centrica, La Caisse and Amber Infrastructure, the project offers:
• Exceptional scale and complexity
• Long-term investment and stability
• Career-defining development opportunities

• The chance to shape the future of low-carbon energy in the UK

Our ambition is to replicate the success of Hinkley Point C while improving delivery efficiency, reducing cost and accelerating programme outcomes through innovation and continuous improvement.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for experienced project professionals who thrive in technically complex, fast-paced and highly regulated environments.

You'll ideally bring:
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering and procurement activities
• Project management or project engineering experience across the full project lifecycle
• A background in mechanical, electrical, process, systems or civil engineering
• Experience managing interfaces across large infrastructure or industrial projects
• Knowledge of procurement and contract management processes
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Experience working within EPCM or major programme delivery environments
• Understanding of cost, risk, schedule and change management principles
• Experience managing contractors, consultants and delivery partners

We'd particularly welcome candidates with:
• Experience in nuclear or other regulated industries
• Chartered Engineer status or equivalent professional accreditation
• Formal project management qualifications
• Experience procuring equipment or installation contracts for large industrial or nuclear projects

What Makes You Successful Here

You'll thrive in this role if you:
• Put health, safety and quality at the centre of decision making
• Can adapt quickly in a changing and evolving environment
• Stay calm and focused under pressure
• Build strong relationships across multidisciplinary teams
• Encourage collaboration, challenge and continuous improvement
• Bring resilience, accountability and delivery focus
• Are motivated by solving complex engineering and delivery challenges

Be Part of Something Bigger

Why Join Us?

For more than 60 years, nuclear power stations in the UK have been quietly keeping Britain fuelled with massive amounts of home-grown energy.

Our teams up and down the country are proudly continuing to serve the nation - but they also have an eye on the future.

EDF is leading the UK's nuclear renaissance with the construction of a new nuclear power station at Hinkley Point C and plans for a new power station at Sizewell C in Suffolk.

Nuclear power is the most reliable, low-carbon energy source currently available to the UK. EDF is playing a key role in the development of nuclear sites, while Hinkley Point C will provide low-carbon electricity to meet 7% of the UK demand. The project is already making a positive impact on the local and national economy as well as boosting skills and education.

We're not just building new nuclear power stations. We're developing careers, upskilling generations and creating thousands of employment and apprenticeship opportunities across a variety of skills areas.

It takes a special kind of person to work in the nuclear energy industry and although we have thousands of them there's always a need for more.

Our industry has a mind-boggling range of opportunities and more jobs, and in more places, than you might think. But it's also an industry which is changing.

We're a responsible business and proud to be Britain's biggest generator of zero carbon electricity. With size, age and experience, we believe we can do even more.
