As an Assistant Project Manager, you will support the successful delivery of complex nuclear and infrastructure projects by coordinating engineering, planning, and project management activities across multidisciplinary teams. You will work closely with Project Managers and technical stakeholders to help ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with quality, cost, and schedule expectations. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to major engineering programmes while developing broad project management experience within highly regulated environments.

Who You Are
As an Assistant Project Manager, you will support the successful delivery of complex nuclear and infrastructure projects by coordinating engineering, planning, and project management activities across multidisciplinary teams. You will work closely with Project Managers and technical stakeholders to help ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with quality, cost, and schedule expectations. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to major engineering programmes while developing broad project management experience within highly regulated environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning, coordination, and delivery of engineering and project activities across nuclear and infrastructure projects.
- Assist Project Managers with tracking project schedules, deliverables, milestones, risks, and actions to ensure successful project execution.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including engineering, construction, procurement, commissioning, quality, and client stakeholders.
- Support the preparation and management of project documentation including reports, meeting minutes, action trackers, schedules, and progress updates.
- Monitor project progress and help identify risks, issues, and potential delays, supporting the implementation of mitigation actions where required.
- Participate in technical and project coordination meetings with internal teams, suppliers, and clients.
- Support change management and configuration control activities by ensuring project information and documentation remain accurate and up to date.
- Assist with budget monitoring, resource coordination, and project reporting activities.
- Contribute to maintaining compliance with project procedures, quality standards, and nuclear safety requirements.
- Support stakeholder communication and ensure effective collaboration across project interfaces.
- Help drive continuous improvement initiatives and support efficient project delivery processes.
Who You Are
- Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Experience supporting engineering, construction, or infrastructure projects within regulated industries such as nuclear, energy, infrastructure, or industrial sectors.
- Strong organisational and coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
- Comfortable working within multidisciplinary teams and supporting complex technical projects.
- Good understanding of project delivery principles including planning, scheduling, risk management, and stakeholder coordination.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and eager to develop within a project management environment.
- Familiarity with project management tools and reporting processes would be advantageous.
