Our client, a major Oil and Gas company, is looking for a Business Analyst to join their team on a 1-year contract in Calgary. The successful candidate will be responsible for documenting and updating business processes across various functions including sourcing, procurement, receiving, accounts payable, and operations.

This role involves close collaboration with Finance and Supply Chain business subject matter experts and leadership to facilitate decision-making, training and change management for the organization. It also involves close collaboration with our system implementation partner to ensure that the business processes are accurately implemented in the target technology solution. Additionally, the Business Analyst will participate in testing phases such as System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), coordinating efforts with the business stakeholders and the other project business analysts.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Document and Update Business Processes:
  • Work with the system implementation partner and business areas to document and update business processes for sourcing, procurement, receiving, AP, and operations.
  • Establish and maintain leading processes to be followed by business stakeholders.
  • Ensure all process documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and accessible.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of training materials related to new or updated processes. Support training as required.

2. Testing and Coordination:
  • Participate in System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Plan and coordinate testing activities with business stakeholders and other project BAs
  • Identify and document any issues or discrepancies during testing phases, collaborate with the team to resolve and retest as required.

3. Stakeholder Collaboration and Communication:
  • Collaborate and communicate with business stakeholders to understand their needs and requirements.
  • Facilitate workshops and meetings to gather and validate process-related information and drive decision making.
  • Run sprint meetings and manage JIRA board ? Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams.
  • Be a change agent to support the business and project manager with change management activities

4. Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies.
  • Recommend and implement changes to enhance business processes.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented processes.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst supporting complex, cross-functional projects.
  • Strong understanding of business processes in sourcing, procurement, receiving, AP, and operations.
  • Skillful communicator and facilitator, able to tailor written and verbal communication to different stakeholder groups and situations.
  • Experience leading System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Experience with organizational change management on projects that have impacts on people, process and technology.
  • Demonstrate leadership to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in process documentation tools and software.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with ERP or Source to Pay related applications.
  • Certification in Business Analysis (e.g., CBAP, PMI-PBA).
  • Familiar with using JIRA to plan and organize project sprints Working Conditions:
