SUMMARY: The Offshore Operations Manager for Crowley Wind Services, this role will serve as the primary representation aboard the vessel overseeing safe and efficient execution of wind turbine installation projects. The Offshore Manager will provide leadership and technical expertise in offshore vessel and heavy lift operations, ensuring project objectives are executed to the company and client's safety and quality standards. This role will manage all aspects of planning, coordination, communication and supervision between teams, clients, sub-contractors, and other key stakeholders.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provides leadership and technical expertise to teams, as primary company representation onsite.
• Responsible for communicating and ensuring all safety and quality standards are understood and executed in a compliant manner.
• Manages engineering specifications for all onsite teams.
• Accountable for the planning and execution of operational plans throughout the project, working in collaboration with the Director and VP of Operations.
• Leverages multiple streams of communication to ensure all teams, clients, subcontractors and key stakeholders are apprised of all matters.
• Fosters a strong safety culture, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and procedures.
• Manages the timelines and budgets of all projects aspects, while adhering to industry standards and project specific requirements.
• Proactively identifies challenges and opportunities throughout the project, maintaining constant communication with leadership as required.
• Partners with cross functional teams to mitigate and address any Health, Safety, & Environmental risk or concerns.
• Maintains detailed documentation and reporting of offshore activities, including required progress reports and post-operation reviews.
Qualifications
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in engineering, marine construction, offshore marine operation or a related field, including a combination of relevant industry experience.
EXPERIENCE: 5+ years relevant experience in offshore construction management required, with proven experience in heavy lift operations offshore lifting, cranes and installation of large offshore structures (wind turbines, platforms and jackets) preferred. Proven success with managing offshore projects.
TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY: Strong technical proficiency and operational aptitude. Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Outlook and Word.
COMPETENCIES: Strong safety focus and risk management skills. Maintain high standards of ethical conduct, honesty, and integrity. Ability to effectively manage projects that may vary in nature and scope. Ability to apply skill sets and demonstrate proven experience developing, improving, and streamlining processes to meet established goals and objectives. Core understanding of technical matters involved in vessel operations such as Cranes, hydraulic grillage, and motion compensating equipment
WORKING CONDITIONS: Works both inside environment and outside in conditions of both high and low temperatures. May be exposed to odors, dust, dirt, mechanical hazards, high noise levels and potentially dangerous equipment. Must be able to crouch and stoop to get into areas with restricted headroom and be able to climb ladders. May require extended use of computer keyboard and viewing of computer monitor and ability to sit for long periods of time.
