The Hazardous Compliance Advisor is responsible for executing Weatherford's global HazMat strategy to prevent and mitigate risks to safety, health, and the environment within the assigned facility and country of operation.The role supports, advises, and monitors compliance with global standards related to Radiation, Explosives, and Primary Lithium Battery Protection Programs. The position ensures that local procedures and work instructions promote safe handling, storage, transportation, and use of hazardous materials, in line with regulatory requirements and the ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principle. The HazMat Compliance Advisor acts as the facility custodian for all regulatory documentation, serves as the primary liaison with regulatory authorities, and supports the country and global HazMat leadership in maintaining compliance with Weatherford standards and local legislation.

The HazMat Compliance Advisor acts as the facility custodian for all regulatory documentation, serves as the primary liaison with regulatory authorities, and supports the country and global HazMat leadership in maintaining compliance with Weatherford standards and local legislation.
Responsibilities
- Support the Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) in maintaining, renewing, and updating all facility-specific licenses and permits related to hazardous materials, ensuring full traceability.
- Ensure radioactive material (RAM) source files are available and maintained for all RAM within the facility, with cradle-to-grave traceability.
- Maintain records for all HazMat-authorized employees, including control of HazMat keys, access cards, and biometric access.
- Ensure RAM shields and hazardous material transportation containers are correctly marked and labeled.
- Ensure availability of calibrated and functional radiation survey meters appropriate for the types of radiation used or handled.
- Administer the radiation dosimeter program, including development of local procedures for female radiation workers in accordance with local regulations.
- Conduct facility-level HazMat audits covering all applicable hazardous materials.
- Ensure completion of Root Cause Analysis for all HazMat-related incidents within the facility.
- Act as the facility focal point for international imports and exports of hazardous materials, including development of facility-specific shipping procedures, preparation of shipping documentation, packaging, and completion of dangerous goods paperwork (IATA/IMDG certification required).
- Ensure all HazMat service and product vendors are vetted and approved in accordance with Weatherford supplier standards.
- Ensure licensed hazardous materials (radiation and explosives) possessed or used by the company are limited to those specified in applicable licenses.
- Conduct regular field site visits to verify compliance with operational excellence requirements and inspect explosives magazines, radiation bunkers, and lithium battery storage facilities.
- Ensure appropriate HazMat security measures are implemented across facilities within the country of operation.
- Ensure compliance with HazMat license terms and conditions, including periodic review of personnel authorizations, inventories, surveys, and usage records.
- Ensure proper storage, handling, and disposal of hazardous waste in accordance with local regulations and company supply chain procedures.
- Manage and coordinate the overall country HazMat program to ensure compliance with Weatherford standards and local legislation.
- Support the Country HazMat Manager in conducting legislative gap assessments and documenting gaps through the Management of Change (MOC) process.
- Assist and lead investigations of country-level HazMat incidents in coordination with local authorities and relevant business units.
- Audit and test HazMat emergency response plans and implement improvements to strengthen emergency response management.
- Ensure HazMat requirements of OEPS standards are understood, implemented, sustained, and communicated to the Global QHSE team.
- Develop and maintain local HazMat procedures and management plans aligned with OEPS standards and regulatory or client requirements.
- Act as liaison with local regulatory bodies, government agencies, customers, vendors, logistics, trade compliance teams, and internal stakeholders.
- Serve as the facility contact during state or federal HazMat inspections.
- Follow up with business unit leaders on implementation of required HazMat training for identified employees.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the direct manager or Global HazMat Manager within the scope of the role.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to communicate effectively at senior management level.
- Strong coordination and stakeholder management skills.
- Good computer literacy and documentation management skills.
- Ability to respond immediately and effectively to emergency situations.
- MOH-approved Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) is required.
- Radiation Knowlagent.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Science or Engineering.
- Minimum of three (3) years of work experience in the oil and gas industry.
