This Position reports to:
SCM Manager
As a Local Trade Compliance Officer you will have the opportunity to be responsible for local import/export operations. Each day, you will supervise performance of customs brokers. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring smooth execution of operational trade and customs activities within a local unit, including relevant documentation and compliance with regulations.

Your Role and Responsibilities
In this role, you'll help run what runs the world, by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact.
- Serve as the hands-on point of contact for trade authorities and management, managing export license applications, customs filings, and regulatory submissions.
- Oversee daily trade compliance activities, including product classification, valuation, country-of-origin verification, and transaction-level approvals.
- Develop and implement practical trade compliance procedures and systems (e.g., SAP GTS) to ensure consistent, operational compliance across local teams.
- Identify and mitigate compliance risks in real time, providing actionable guidance to business operations and continuously improving processes.
- Acting as point of contact for customs brokers in case of clarification needs (e.g., regarding valuation or classification of products).
- Auditing customs brokers regarding the correctness of customs entries, invoicing, and archiving.
- Managing the necessary documentation and online forms for the efficient, cost-effective, and lawful execution of all import/export activities.
- Maintaining and sharing with colleagues, as appropriate, personal knowledge of all relevant import/export laws and procedures, tariffs, duties, licenses, and restrictions.
Qualifications for the role
- Solid understanding of export control and customs rules, with potential for further expertise development within local and global context.
- Several years of experience in business processes, with a strong understanding of supply chain management, risk management, and logistics.
- Experience working with trade compliance management systems (e.g. SAP GTS) and data-driven compliance processes.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organization, providing guidance and training to teams.
- Proficient in English language.
- Strong business mindset, self-driven, and responsive to operational needs.
- Technical knowledge in the relevant product areas (though willingness to learn is essential).
