Overview

We are seeking a Legal Counsel - Asia & Australia to support AtkinsRéalis' legal activities in the Asia & Australia region.

In this role you will be reporting to the Legal Director, Asia, with a dotted line to the Legal Director, Australia

Responsibilities

• Carrying out contract review, negotiation and general commercial advice, including bid opportunities, MOUs, joint ventures and consortium agreements.
• Understand, consult on, and provide proactive advice regarding litigation, arbitration, other ADR processes, and regulatory matters in Asia and Australia.
• Negotiating and advising on professional services contracts under both international and local jurisdictions.
• Draft and advise on various ancillary legal documents including NDA's, settlements, variations and contractual notices.
• Regular reporting and updating on status of matters in the region.
• Partner with and efficiently manage outside counsel and other legal service providers.
• Serve as a subject matter expert with respect to legal matters in the Asia and Australia region.

Requirements

• Legal degree and member of a local professional association for lawyers.
• NQ to 5 years' experience whether inhouse or in private practice.
• Strong work ethic, superior organizational skills, and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment under time constraints and work well independently and as a collaborative team member.
• Demonstrated commitment to centering diversity and equity in executing key responsibilities.
• Demonstrated success building and ability to build trust with internal and external stakeholders and influence in a team setting.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to problem-solve.
• Confidence blended with humility.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
