The Attorney handles routine general legal tasks under the supervision of the Legal Team Lead, the Legal Counsel or other senior lawyer(s) in the assigned Legal Support Center (LSC), GeoUnit, Division, Technology Center, Corporate Legal or Ethics & Compliance groups at headquarters (HQ). Depending on the assignment:
LSC/ GeoUnit/ Division:
  • Handles day-to-day legal matters in the assigned business unit.

Technology Center:
  • Drafts, reviews and negotiates confidentiality, consulting, development agreements, and handles day-t-day contracts disputes for the assigned Technology Center.
  • Provides legal advice and support to Supply Chain and Contracts teams in drafting and negotiating all types of contracts to meet business and legal needs, including complex contracts in the assigned Technology Center (data privacy, research and development, IOT services, other digital products, licensing and certification).
  • Corporate Legal HQ:
  • Drafts, reviews and negotiates legal and commercial documents including letters of intent, supplier/procurement agreements, leases and licenses.
  • Maintains structures allocated to him/her, ensures the integrity of the Schlumberger corporate structure, and under supervision manages transactions related to such structures. Assists with reporting, filing and other issues regarding the exchanges on which Schlumberger securities are traded.
  • Assists the Legal Counsel in the assigned business unit(s) with: Conducting regular legal risk assessment, coordinating and documenting input from the business and other functions stakeholders, maintaining the risk database, taking responsibility for the implementation of the assigned risk mitigation actions; Managing litigations; Managing and supervising outside counsel; Handling internal investigations and compliance reviews; implementing procedures, practices, guidelines, templates and related training.
  • Interacts with support functions and departments in the assigned business unit(s), ensuring involvement of Legal in all matters that may have a legal impact on Schlumberger.
  • Provides legal support to ensure compliance with local regulations and Schlumberger Code of Ethics, including assisting in performing operations assurance reviews when requested.
  • Identifies and proposes improvements to existing legal procedures.
  • Documents lessons learned for sharing within the organization.


  • Attorney from an accredited law school.
  • 4+ years of legal experience in corporate, commercial, contracts law.
  • Prior in-house experience or experience advising multinational corporations (either in-house or at a law firm) strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience drafting, negotiating, and advising on a wide range of commercial agreements.
  • Experience supporting cross-functional teams including Procurement, Sales, Compliance, Finance, and HR.
  • Strong knowledge of contract law, corporate governance, commercial frameworks, and risk mitigation principles.
  • Ability to analyze complex legal issues and translate them into clear, actionable business guidance.
  • Experience managing and prioritizing multiple matters in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (Portuguese is a plus).

The role is based in Bogota/Cota, Colombia.
