Role Overview

The Legal Manager is responsible for managing legal, compliance, and governance matters across business operations within the energy sector. The role provides legal advisory support to commercial and operational teams, helps mitigate legal and regulatory risk, and ensures compliance with applicable laws and internal policies. This position works closely with internal stakeholders and external advisors to support stable and compliant business activities. Key Responsibilities
1. Legal & Compliance
  • Manage legal and contractual matters related to business operations and projects within the energy sector.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements and legal documents relevant to day-to-day operations and project activities.
  • Provide legal advice, risk analysis, and practical recommendations to support management decisions.
  • Conduct legal due diligence and support licensing, approval, or registration processes where required.
  • Monitor changes in relevant laws and regulations, assess potential impacts on business activities, and provide compliance guidance.
  • Maintain and update internal legal policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
2. Regulatory & External Coordination
  • Liaise with relevant authorities, consultants, and external parties on regulatory and legal matters.
  • Support regulatory submissions, reporting, and official correspondence.
  • Assist internal teams in addressing regulatory or compliance-related issues.
  • Provide legal input on externally facing matters related to regulatory or contractual obligations.
3. Dispute & Risk Management
  • Support the handling of disputes, claims, and legal issues arising from operations or commercial relationships.
  • Coordinate with external legal advisors on advisory work, dispute resolution, or litigation matters.
  • Identify key legal risks and support the development of appropriate mitigation measures.
4. Internal Support & Knowledge Sharing
  • Provide ongoing legal support to internal stakeholders across functions.
  • Develop and maintain standard contract templates, guidelines, and reference materials.
  • Support internal training or awareness activities related to legal and compliance topics.
  • Supervise and guide junior legal resources where applicable.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Law.
  • Professional legal qualification or practising certificate is an advantage.
  • 8 years of relevant legal experience in an in-house or law firm environment.
  • Experience supporting businesses operating in the energy or related regulated sectors.
  • Strong background in contract drafting, negotiation, and legal advisory work.
  • Solid understanding of regulatory compliance and corporate governance requirements.
  • Strong communication skills in Vietnamese and English.
  • Practical, business-oriented mindset with good judgment and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
