PIC Legal Counsel

Chevron is accepting online applications for the position PIC Legal Counsel through June 7th at 11:59 p.m.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Guides and advises company management on legal issues. Pursues actions to enable business client's and Chevron's compliance with law, regulation, and policy. Helps protect Chevron's interests and manage risk. Develops and recommends changes to company policies and procedures. Negotiates, drafts, and reviews agreements. Selects, retains, and partners with specialized outside counsel as needed for litigation, claims, advice, and transactional matters. Guides work performed by Legal Support functions.
Supports major customers/clients and leads projects of medium scope and complexity under limited supervision. Detailed knowledge of most aspects of the work function.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in law from a Venezuelan university
-Relevant experience supporting oil & gas operations, preferably within or related to Venezuelan joint ventures.
- solid understanding of the Venezuelan hydrocarbons legal and regulatory framework, including applicable compliance requirements.
- Intermediate / Advanced English fluency
- Acumen on the legal structure of the Venezuelan joint ventures
- Experience advising in fast-paced, high-impact operational environments, supporting business-critical decisions under time pressure.
Experience supporting senior leadership through complex negotiations, sensitive matters, and business critical decisions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong stakeholder Management skills, with ability to build trust, and influence across functions.
- Strong prioritization and execution skills.
-Consistent track record of positive stakeholder feedback, particularly in responsiveness, ownership and quality of legal support.

Relocation may be considered.

Expatriate assignments will not be considered.
