Legal Intern

The Legal Intern will assist with legal research, contract review, regulatory monitoring, and compliance-related activities, contributing to the effective management of legal risks in Central Africa.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct legal research on laws and regulations applicable in Central African jurisdictions (including OHADA framework where relevant)
  • Support the team in drafting, reviewing, and proofreading contracts, agreements, and legal correspondence
  • Assist in maintaining and updating contract databases and legal trackers
  • Monitor and summarize regulatory developments, including areas such as corporate law, employment law, digital/technology laws (e.g. electronic signatures), and compliance requirements
  • Provide support on compliance and ethics initiatives, including internal trainings and documentation
  • Help prepare legal memoranda, presentations, and reports
  • Assist in managing litigation
  • Assist with corporate governance matters, including filings and record keeping
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and external counsel where required
  • Support ongoing legal projects across the Central Africa region


Experience & Exposures:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law (fresh graduates encouraged to apply)
  • Familiarity with basic legal principles, frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong analytical and research skills with the ability to interpret legal documents, case law, and support compliance or advisory activities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Exposure to legal research tools or document management systems is an advantage.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in English
  • Demonstrated adaptability, learning agility, and ability to perform effectively in dynamic environments.
  • Willingness to learn about legal processes, contract review, compliance, and industry regulations.
