Materials Coordinator

Job Purpose
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Materials Coordinator to provide material and site facilities support during planned shutdown activities. This critical role ensures that all materials are efficiently managed and available for shutdown operations, while maintaining effective coordination with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Material Code Creation & Management: Create new material codes as required and identify materials for shutdown planning and SAP reservations.
- Material Technical Evaluation: Assist in the technical evaluation of offers related to shutdown material requirements.
- Material Planning and Procurement: Coordinate with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) for material stock transfers, purchase requisition (PR) creation, and purchase order (PO) releases. Assist in material preservation activities when required. Work with procurement and warehouse teams to track procurement issues, stock levels, and material status, providing timely updates to relevant teams.
- Procurement Status Monitoring: Monitor and report procurement statuses, ensuring material availability aligns with shutdown timelines. Communicate issues to the relevant planning or project teams.
- Consolidated Material Reporting: Prepare comprehensive material reports for shutdown management and coordination meetings, tracking progress and potential delays.
- Procurement Issue Coordination: Hold periodic meetings with warehouse, procurement, and expediting teams to identify and resolve procurement issues for shutdown materials.
- Inspection of Incoming Materials: Coordinate the inspection of incoming materials with QA/QC sections and end users, ensuring compliance with specifications and quality standards.
- Workshop Coordination: Collaborate with the workshop to execute tasks such as valve testing, overhauling, and fabrication jobs as per shutdown schedules.
- Material Verification & Staging: Perform inspections of released materials from the warehouse before palletising and staging. Ensure physical verification of materials at the warehouse during key shutdown milestones.
- Red Zone Material Coordination: Assist in the development and finalisation of the Red Zone Material list, collaborating with various teams such as Shutdown Planning, Purchasing, and Asset Planning.
Person Specification - Minimum Requirements
Qualifications:
- Higher National Diploma (HND) in Engineering or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years' experience in the Oil & Gas or petrochemical industry, specifically related to material coordination and shutdown activities.
- Strong knowledge of material specifications and international codes.
Skills and Competencies:
- Proficiency in standard office software and excellent computer literacy.
- Knowledge of SAP is an advantage.
- Excellent coordination skills with the ability to engage effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
