The Marine Logistics Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating day-to-day maritime activities, ensuring efficient and safe operations in compliance with relevant regulations. This role involves managing personnel, vessel schedules, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols. Ensure optimal and timely availability of all vessels. Focus on NMDC's business priorities while meeting customer demands.
Responsibilities
.Ensuring Company owned and managed vessels are operated in a safe, efficient manner and in full compliance with Classand statutory regulations.
• Liaise and coordinate with 3rd parties for renewal of required certificates.
• Ensure these renewals are done in timely manner so as not to affect the running operation.
• Ensure relevant units are in full compliance with ISM requirements per company policy and mentoring implementation ISMand report submission.
• Supervise and coordinate marine operations, including vessel movements, cargo handling, and crew activities.
• Monitor and enforce compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
• Manage and schedule vessel departures, arrivals, and maintenance activities.
• Liaise with port authorities, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
• Conduct regular safety drills and training sessions for marine personnel.
• Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure vessels are in optimal condition.
• Maintain accurate records of vessel movements, incidents, and maintenance activities.
• Address and resolve operational issues promptly to minimize downtime.
• Provide leadership and guidance to the marine operations team.
• Participate in the development and implementation of operational policies and procedures.
• Ensure NMDC QHSE procedure are implemented and complied with as per company policy.
• This is a generalist view of a Job that you have been assigned for - at times you may be requested to do above/beyond thescope of this role due to Operational requirements.
• Identify hazards
• Obtain information from HSE Department
• Make recommendations to HSE Department
Qualifications
Master Mariner or Degree in Maritime Studies, Marine Operations, or a related field
Possession of relevant professional certifications.
Certificate / Membership: STCW Certificates
Function specific experience
5-years proven experience in marine operations
Industry related experience
• Marine & Dredging
Years of experience
• 10-15 years of experience
Excellent Verbal & Written communication skills
• Required: Fluent English
• Arabic or any other language is an asset.
IT skills
• MS Office
• Knowledge of ERP Oracle.
Other
• Excellent analytical skills
• Flexibility: being longer periods of time on duty.
• Passing physical fitness from AD Health Service Co. SEHA is mandatory. Physical examinations and investigation test (ADMA) will be required before working at offshore Oil and Gas projects.
