Head of Inventory Management

Overview
A senior leadership opportunity is available for an experienced Head of Inventory Management to lead and optimise large-scale warehouse and material management operations within a complex industrial environment.

This role is suited to a strategic and hands-on leader who can drive inventory performance, improve processes, and ensure the efficient control of high-value stock across multiple warehouse locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all inventory management activities across multiple warehouse sites
• Define and deliver inventory strategy, KPIs, and performance metrics aligned with business objectives
• Manage material requirements planning (MRP) to ensure alignment with operational demand
• Forecast and optimise inventory levels to balance availability and cost efficiency
• Oversee inventory movements, controls, and associated financial performance
• Ensure effective governance and accuracy of material master data
• Lead inventory cycle counts and reconciliation processes to maintain system accuracy
• Identify and manage obsolete or excess stock to reduce holding costs
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to support major projects, shutdowns, and expansion activities
• Manage third-party contractors and ensure contractual compliance
• Continuously improve processes to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery
• Lead, develop, and manage a high-performing inventory team

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline
• Minimum 12 years of experience in inventory or supply chain within a large industrial environment
• At least 5 years in a leadership or supervisory role
• Proven experience managing high-value inventory across large warehouse operations
• Strong knowledge of material requirements planning (MRP) systems
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or similar platforms
• Understanding of master data governance and material master data management
• Experience leading inventory audits, cycle counts, and reconciliation processes
• Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Fluent in English

Additional Information

• Experience managing inventory values exceeding 200M USD is highly desirable
• Experience with large SKU volumes and multi-site warehouse operations is advantageous
• Knowledge of process improvement methodologies is beneficial
• Strong understanding of warehouse operations and material handling best practices
