CCL are working with a client to recruitment an Inbound Logistics & Materials Coordinator based in Iraq on a major Oil and Gas project. You will be working on 28/28 rotation and it’s a 12 month+ contract.
You will be supporting materials management, inbound logistics and materials co-ordination for day to day delivery of physical supply chain and MM activities for a major project. The role will coordinate and execute materials management activities with a focus on inbound logistics and material flow to ensure safe, efficient, and timely delivery of equipment and supplies. This role supports project execution by managing freight forwarding, expediting, and documentation processes, while maintaining compliance with corporate standards and local regulations. The right candidate needs to have deep materials management expertise and be a confident partner to the business teams including understanding global oil and gas markets, materials management, the supply base, and supply chain vulnerabilities.
The Materials Co-ordinator will work closely with key customers and external partners to ensure the most effective and efficient support to the business agenda including, but not limited to safe and reliable materials movement and availability, warehouse operations and optimization of inventory. All business activities will need to be conducted in compliance with Iraqi laws and regulations, the Iraq Standard Contracting and Procurement Procedures (SCPP) and with our clients Code of Conduct, Anti Bribery and Corruption and Anti Money Laundering policies.
Responsibilities:
- The successful candidate will work closely with our partners in NOC and NGC to establish the state of existing materials management infrastructure, including the systems, processes, and resources that support the efficient handling and flow of materials within the project fields, from the physical storage and transportation of materials to the software and technologies used for tracking and managing inventory.
- The role will involve working closely with technical and project management stakeholders to ensure products and services are delivered safely, to specification and in line with contractual agreements.
- Inbound Logistics - You will manage inbound logistics for all freight forwarding activities, including scheduling, shipment tracking, and transport assurance for air, marine, and land movements. The role will ensure preparation and maintenance of shipment documentation (PO’s, customs paperwork, certificates) and ensure compliance with Incoterms and regulatory requirements. You will enable proactive issue resolution and informed decision-making through providing updated delivery status through Expediting Status Reports.
- Material Coordination – you will track materials from PO issuance to site delivery, ensuring visibility across the supply chain. You will liaise with suppliers, logistics providers, and internal teams to expedite critical materials and resolve delays and you will support reverse logistics operations, including documentation for returns and inventory updates.
- Compliance & Governance – you will ensure adherence to the company Code of Conduct, Anti-Bribery and Corruption, and Anti-Money Laundering policies and comply with Iraq Standard Contracting and Procurement Procedures (SCPP) and OMS requirements for logistics and materials handling.
- Systems & Reporting – you will ensure accurate records are maintained in the ERP system (SAP, Maximo) for material movements and inventory status, generating reports on inbound logistics performance, expediting priorities, and material availability.
- Stakeholder Engagement – you will collaborate with procurement, warehouse, and project teams to align material delivery with operational needs and act as a key interface with freight forwarders and customs agents to ensure smooth transit and clearance.
Experience required:
- You will have a University degree and CIPS professional chartership (or equivalent) is preferred. However, experience and attitude are key, and we're looking for someone who has:
- Genuine passion for the Oil and Gas business, materials management and the supply chain.
- Demonstrable track record of delivery in materials management, ideally related to oil and gas services with large capex or onshore scopes.
- Commercial mindset, analytical skills, and able to confidently negotiate large complex contracts and liaise with all levels of stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of P2P systems/ERP systems such as SAP and software tools, as well as procurement authorities, and operational procurement execution.
- Ability to perform effectively in a team environment, interfacing with contractors, suppliers and multi-discipline project teams, demonstrating agile, collaborative, respectful and tactful personal characteristics.
- Knowledge of materials management activities and other fundamental Logistics industry operational activities.
- Understanding of the safety risks associated with Warehousing and Logistics and risk mitigation activities.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate with individuals across multiple disciplines and geographies, across organizational boundaries and levels within the company and with suppliers.
