JOB DESCRIPTION

Wood is currently recruiting for a Freight Forwarding Coordinator(Iraqi local nationals only) position, and work pattern is 5 Days A week, we can only consider applications from local Iraqi nationals residing in Basra and surrounding areas

This role is the prime interface between all user departments, Logistic section and the freight forwarding agent to ensure all shipments can be transported or delivered on time. The position is required to monitoring and speeding up the daily operations and recording/documentation. The position also needs to cooperate with Logistic supervisor to manage the communication and coordination with freight forwarding agents to achieve the better performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Push supplier and freight forwarding agents to expedite goods delivery.
• Supervision of freight forwarder operations and prepare the freight forwarding progress report.
• Assist in the customs clearance process for import shipments.
• Develop, nurture, and maintain high quality relationships with user department, freight forwarders, and other service providers.
• Coordinate the review of products in order to determine the correct transportation requirements, including packaging, labeling, and documentation to ensure that shipments are consistent with contractual requirements, external regulations, and internal procedures.
• Verify and audit freight invoices.
• Carries out other similar or related duties which include completing documents for processing of insurance claims for damaged or short landed materials, preparing periodic reports on the work order, arranging the export transportation of materials wrongly supplied or damaged.
• Undertaking the other assigned works and tasks from higher level managers
• Procurement staff
• Local business lines
• Logistics service providers, including shipping lines/ freight forwarders and government organization, such as port authority/ BOC/ MOO
• Payables Organization

QUALIFICATIONS

• Completion of college education, ideally with knowledge of freight forwarding management, international transportation and customs clearance
• 5 years' work experience in freight forwarding or customs clearance within Iraq.
• Fluency in Arabic and English
• Proven ability to work accurately and efficiently with operating systems
