Job Description - Instrument Planner
Part A: Job Specification
Job Purpose
1. Provide maintenance planning services to the Asset Maintenance Team to ensure maximum and effective planning of activities and resource allocation for flawless maintenance execution. The goal is to improve reliability of Operating Facilities of Onshore Assets in accordance with established policies, procedures, instructions, and targets.
Reporting and Relationships
- Reports to Lead E&I Planning/RCM & Maintenance Strategy Lead - Onshore.
Internal
- Frequent contact with Asset Maintenance supervisors and Senior Planners, Workshop & Shared Services (WS/SS) Integrated Schedulers, and Systems Analysts.
- Periodic contact with Center of Expertise, Engineering & Projects, and Supply Department.
External
- None.

- Coordinate with multiple stakeholders, ensuring planning and execution of activities/works within the planned timeframe in compliance with policy and procedures.

1. Ensure all activities undertaken comply with anti-trust and competition laws and firewall policies and procedures.
Key Job Accountabilities
1. Ensure planning activities are aligned to Maintenance KPIs and are executed timely for Operational effectiveness.
2. Develop detailed scope of work for processing work orders for asset maintenance.
3. Review plan tasks ensuring resources related to materials, procurement, tools and equipment, labour, contracts, and logistics requirements are allocated.
4. Perform daily review of new notifications to ensure information is sufficient for planning purposes and provides insight for realistic TFUC (Time Frame Under Consideration); support the Latest Acceptable Completion Dates (LACD), amendment process checks, and request cancellation of identified duplicate work orders for similar work on the same equipment/functional location.
5. Ensure all associated costs are captured in the work order prior to sending for management approval. Ensure planned works are consistent with established Standards.
6. Raise Master Data Governance (MDG) notifications for items not listed or incorrect in the SAP Bill of Materials (BOM) directly relating to work order planning.
7. Prepare Material Return to Stock (MRS) for surplus/unused materials to be returned to the warehouse.
8. Facilitate the monthly PM review process, 12 weeks ahead of the schedule, and prepare PM plans.
9. Maintain the library of SAP PM task lists which are set up and update the task lists for routine and major repetitive works.
10. Support the work order (WO) close-out process by setting the status to Technical Completion (TECO).
Part B: Person Specification - Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Higher National Diploma (HND) in engineering.
Knowledge and/or Experience
- 7 years' experience with direct maintenance in planning/scheduling within the oil and gas and petrochemical industry, of which 3 years spent in planning and/or scheduling roles.
Technical and Business Skills
- Proficient in written and spoken English.
- Computer literacy and familiarity with industry-specific computer programs such as SAP PM.
